Another Yukon River Fish Camp season close to over. Wanted to show you around before the dogs and I make our final trip to the village of Tanana 40 miles downriver for the winter months. Family already moved out. Life flows with the seasons. Next spring it will be back here all over again. Fish camp is a 4 month thing each year. Stan
Also "Carry On: Stan Zuray's Journey from Boston Greaser to Alaskan Homesteader" is now available on Amazon in paperback, eBook, and audiobook. Amazon reviews always appreciated. www.amazon.com...
Anyone interested in a signed copy has two options:
- Go to: www.thestanpro... and buy a pre signed book (the simplest)
- Buy a book on Amazon and follow these instructions. (Many have done this and it has worked well. Done hundreds and no mail failures yet).
1. Get two 12.5 x 9.5" priority mail flat rate envelopes at post office.
2. Self-address and put postage on one envelope.
3. Address other one to: Stan Zuray, Box 77172, Tanana, Alaska, 99777 and put book and other envelope in it (folded) and signing instructions if any and I'll sign and return.
Please send no money - my privilege to sign but an Amazon review would be appreciated. Flat rate both ways will cost you under $15.

Hi Stan, we've been following your family and Tanana for years, Hello to Joey hope he's married? hello to the elders and , we love and respect you all for not letting this wilderness go to crap. How is the hunter invasion going? You sound good but I think your the only guy whom doesn't put his face on vid every 5 seconds, love to see this all.!!

Things are good. just finished 3 days of digging redoing my foundation for the house before the ground freezes. Hunters come every year but more are coming down the new road as years go by. It's the nature of a road and the town was in favor of it more than not so now we have it. I stay out of it all and if I don't like it I just travel in the other direction - not into fighting it. I've waved to every hunter boat that goes by my fishcamp for 30 + years now.

@stanzuray
@stanzuray 4 жыл бұрын
Reality shows nowadays have to be made much cheaper than years ago. So much more TV and media shows competing for less and less viewers. That means the whole show made in one spot and the content decided upon before they film. The days of shows like Yukon Men where the crew lived in the village continuously and filmed whatever happened wherever we went ( and the dramatized it) are over from what I see.

@@stanzuray thank you so much for answering. We miss you all. I figured Bob might leave one day, he always seemed so torn about where to be, and knew Joey would be very successful. And he's married! I have really missed seeing Charlie and Courtney, but I sure understand how everyone has such busy lives. It's nice to see some glimpse of life there in your videos. I look forward to them. God bless.

Someone asked if it wouldn't be nice if I let a few dogs loose as they are all on a chain. I accidentally removed the comment trying to edit my reply. Basically it creates to much trouble and they would eventually get into our fish drying or fights with other dogs, etc etc. Sometimes they get taken for walks away fro camp but summer is their time to rest and heal up from a winter of often hard long miles working. They get much more exercise than any pet dog I know just not in summer.

It has 3 cheap sealed bearings on the main shaft that get easily replaced every 3 years. No gas and oil and buying a new one from wear. No maintenance at all - it just does it's job without care each day.
