I came upon this site by chance! I recall my second winter as an infantry brigade Captain stationed at Ft. Wainwright in 1971. We had it even colder, if that's imaginable, and it went down to -67 one day when we were out in the field. Just how brutal (and scary, too, when you're out in it) this temperature range is, cannot be fully understood if you haven't experienced it. You brought it about as close as someone can get to sensing it! What memories you triggered with this "COOL" video! Thanks! Rich Brennan

Until one day I was speaking to a gentlemen from Saudi Arabia and I noticed as he left his house in Saudi Arabia he didn’t lock his door. All of us on Perascope told him don’t forget to lock your doors. He said we have no need to lock our doors unlike you Americans. He said if somebody is caught stealing we can cut his hand off. 😳.
