Who is Scott?
I've been in sports performance, coaching and testing for over 30 years. Yep, before the internet! My journey has involved some wonderful adventures as both a performer and a coach. As a sports scientist I have never stood still and always pushed boundaries and limits. The rewards of this have seen me work with multiple national champions and internationalists. My intense curiosity though for fitness and performance gains has made huge impacts on the life’s of what folks may call - the everyday athlete. I aim to use KZbin to share my knowledge of how to both improve your physical fitness and your mindset. How you train harder or even train less to make more progress! I will share with you how you can improve your mindset and apply simple daily routines to check your progress. I want to also use the channel to have fun! So, although I can be a geek for science at times, my ENFP personality does mean you need to expect the unexpected at times. 😂

My uncle is 84 and sits on his turbo 3 times a week for 20 minutes. If the weather is nice he goes out on his E bike now, he's only just switched to an e bike on his 80th birthday. He's always cycled, eats well, walks dogs every day, 3 to 4 miles. Never smoked. He's my example that looking after yourself is a life goal.

I am 62 and really enjoy the videos. They !re really appreciated. I get out most days. But living in Sheffield makes it hard to ride at zone 2. As you are going up or down hills as there is little flat. But never get bored riding as i just love going out on my bike.

As a psychologist I am always happy to see you put in the psychological aspect as well as the biology to training. Outstanding Cheers

Always do my zone 2 whilst on the turbo whilst watching your live videos. Please keep them over the hour, easy to just sit there, focusing on heart rate, pedal stroke and position.

Love your videos Coach. It never ceases to provide a wealth of info and make me laugh hysterically from time to time. I wish you would put a summary (verbally and visually) of the key points at the end of the Video. It would make it invaluable for me and a lot of others I suspect.

Appreciate you coach as always! I was wondering if we need to wait couple hours before we take protein in after ride then how about when doing century ride. Should we be taking in protein like at mile 60 or just carbs? Thanks for all your amazing information!

#Q Interesting. Would it be too nerdy to do a video on the energyflow on a chemical level. Carbs taken in, turned into glucose, transported thru the blood... Aso to the muscle and back, the whole cycle for fats proteins and carbs, other things needed for the process, ask. Or can you recommend a good source of information?
