Matt I really appreciate that you respond to your viewers comments. I followed a site and gave what I thought was good constructive input and had nice interchange with the person but noted recently like many, they don’t put any response to their subscribers comments anymore. That makes me value that site so much less, and frankly want to go elsewhere. Good for you.

This video is very true. You just have to want want to lose more than anything. It can be fun, you just have to figure out what motivates you as an individual.. And riding a bike is one of the easiest ways in my opinion. And that's because you can get lost in the enjoyment of doing it. Riding a bike to exercise turns from trying to lose weight, to making friends and gaining a hobby that has amazing healthy rewards. Especially if you find like minded people to enjoy it with... Hope to see you back out on the bike soon Matt. We all need to ride again. Would be great to see you out at the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival!

Damn good vid! Doctor wants you to walk with a cane, you could sit down and watch TV, but you have made a C H O I C E. You got stuff to do, stuff you want to do, you want to live. No matter what age you are, living is a choice. That's what I got out of this, do the work, drop the weight, get fit, get stronger, and screw sitting on a couch or walking with a cane. Hopefully we can get more of your good vids more often. I say that and on my channel I post when I can and being under snow here in CO makes it harder when the trails are off the table. SO I know how hard it can be to post. But you know what? You inspired me to take a trip and explore AZ, NM or Utah this weekend and get some content. Looking forward to more content from you, ride on!

The biggest driver is appetite and hunger. If you want to lose weight quickly,ornever put it on. Choose your parents very carefully. It is a simple as that. As professor Roy Taylor of Newcastle University said if you've got a big appetite you've got a big problem. And if you haven't got an appetite, these are my words you have no idea what it's like to have a big appetite so don't judge others.

Sorry to say I don't quite agree with this take. It may be true for some, but not all. There are exceptions to this rule. I won't bore you with an argument because it's not worth arguing about. Some people just have a harder time losing weight than others. Then there are some who take a step forward only to take two back due to injury and have to start all over again... That being said, I still liked the video.

Not that it is any of our business except that you are posting it to your KZbin channel, but "hip turned into tapioca" sounds like pure hyperbole, not a medical diagnosis. What, if one might pry, is the medical diagnosis? My currently disabled riding partner also happens to have a crippling hip problem. Got an MRI, but that somehow failed to lead to a definitive diagnosis. Most recently a specialist in Chinese medicine has diagnosed greater trochanteric bursitis which would be really good news - assuming it is correct. That is the point, actually. To know exactly WTF is going on that is causing acute pain and loss of range of motion and weight bearing capacity. Maybe 15 years or so ago when I was only a little bit older than you are now, I had a hip pain problem. I got this big old pelvic xray. The radiologist probably glanced at my birth date, possibly glanced at the xray, and said I had "increased joint spaces and thinned articular cartilage" or some such bullshit. My orthopedic surgeon doctor, who was a very cool dude, got me duck walking all over the exam room - which I had no trouble doing pain-free - and pronounced the radiologist a shithead. The problem - suggested by another part of that big old xray - turned out to originate from a semi-collapsed L4/L5 disc. I focused on decompressing the spine which has worked like a charm to this day and will probably keep on working another 20 years or so. This is just a story, but I think you might grasp the point. You are correct that the Weight Loss Industry is a fraud, but the real reason this is true is that the idea of "weight loss" per se is a fraud. Body composition primarily expressed as % body fat is what really matters. What would you say about a person with a BMI of 21 and body fat of 35%? In the immediate aftermath of my hip episode I went from 216 to 175 while adding about 10 pounds of muscle. This took about 3 years or so in my case. Unloading a bunch of weight was good, but the metabolic effects of the change in body composition were transformative. Weight loss through gentle, progressive, sustainable eating and life style adjustments are likely best over the long term. Personally, I don't think violent weight loss regimens are a good idea. One is not just reducing body mass, one is reconfiguring a complex and interrelated metabolic system that nobody actually understands in its entirety. You might find it useful to look up the Jackson-Pollock (two physiologist dudes - not the painter) 3-point body fat measurement system and invest in a Slim-Guide body caliper and start tracking your body composition. The scales track feeding, pooping, and water loss/retention in the short term. Correctly calipering skinfolds at three sites can be done quickly and easily and yields the truth. A certain amount of that garage pedaling probably good for stirring the tapioca, lubing the joint, and increasing the blood flow, but that video shit looks like it could produce soul damage. You do look good in gray dreads though. Hang in there, my friend! And make sure you are getting a 100% correct diagnosis of what is going on.
@ShutUpandRideMTB4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I appreciate that a lot. Degenerative Tendinitis is the diagnosis after an MRI, 2 xrays, and 3 doctors. Cheers!
@danwilliams96064 жыл бұрын
@@ShutUpandRideMTB This is me again. Degenerative tendonitis hard to treat by conventional methods as I am sure you know. I have had a lot of success with 850nm near infrared LED devices. This particular form of NIR light can penetrate up to 50mm into the body and works by stimulating the mitochondria of any irradiated cell to produce more ATP, the basic molecule for energy, growth and healing in the body. This could be the best way to overcome the problem of how to get healing energy to tendons. NIR therapy is typically compatible with any other form of treatment and has no side effects. It can also reduce pain by suppressing the production of prostaglandins - the same thing ibuprofen does, but without eating holes in your guts. Check out the BIO-300 model at platinumtherapylights.com. Not a miracle cure, but should slow and might arrest or even reverse degeneration. Dan
