That’s called spousal abuse! 😂 I remember in college our music professor told us someone did that to either Bach or Beethoven after they went to bed, and the composer was so rattled he had to get up out of bed, go to the piano, and hit that final tonic!

JESUS CHRIST died for you on a cross for our sins. 3 days after his death he resurrected and is The TRUE LIVING GOD. In a prayer repent from your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and also ask for the HOLY SPIRIT to come into you in that same prayer as well. Have FAITH in CHRIST. You could come to Jesus Christ as you are, but once you accept Him, you have to become new, change, and be born again, and turn away from all wicked ways. It depends on whether you bought a steel string folk type guitar or a real CLASSICAL guitar. If you bought a folk type guitar, stick with steel string, but use LIGHT gauge steel strings. After playing awhile, you’ll develop calluses and be more comfortable. If you bought a classical style guitar, use MEDIUM gauge CLASSICAL strings. They are easy on the fingers. Good luck and be patient. If possible, find a good teacher. I’ve played for 60 of my 80 years and continue to play about an hour or more a day!!

Beautiful and articulate with much understanding however I consider it a cycle of fifths because the fifth note of the scale like a G resolves down to a C. The C can resolve a fifth down to an F. it’s falling fifths I know people keep arguing about is it a cycle of fourth or fifths, but if you consider the function and not just a melodic relationship but how the fifth degree of the scale Resolves downward to one it’s a 5 to 1 All my respect to your clarity and articulation and love of the subject

Your skill of explanation, pacing/delivery, flow of content and appealing "teacher voice" are rather unmatched by other music tutorial presenters that I have seen over the years! Thank you so much for helping others by giving a resource that other teachers can use to have yet another way to explain things to their own students in a manner that comes from a fresh angle. 👠 The only thing that concerns me though (I experience a tad bit of "cognitive dissonance"), is when I hear expressions such as "...our ear 'naturally wants' the 7 to resolve to 8/1" and, "...the IV chord 'has to' or 'is compelled' to move to the I (one)". The issue I take with this is hearing this being said because you are only speaking from THE CONDITIONING that comes from the music of only ONE culture: Western-European Common Practice Period. Because of the nasty habit that the Europeans of the past have had of being culturally, socially and psycho-logically domineering with their imperialistic manner of either STEALING EVERYTHING THEY COULD from the cultures they encountered and then destroying evidence of -or- tainting/denigrating anything else that they didn't understand. They would then hoist up THEIR recombobulation as being the exclusively supreme manner of thinking (and they've shown throughout history that they're willing to destroy or discount or discredit anyone who will speak to the contrary). I have no "problem" with the product of music generated by Anglos and other non-melanated cultures. For what it is, yes! It provides opportunity for expression, it can move the spirit, inspire, motivate and elevate the human condition... But it is NOT conclusively the pinnacle and the ONLY music form to be sought after... nor does it hold claim to ALL of the "bags of chips"! Have you ever wondered why your college music theory, analysis and composition classes didn't devote any time to the music theory forms of other "World" cultures? Maybe it was just the schools I attended or the time period in which I attended college (late 1980s - yeah, I'M OLD!😂). To conclude, I am grateful for the experiences and exposure and the eye-opening which I have encountered in my long life! I wish the same enlightenment for you Sir! 💝 You are very gifted! And OH! What you could do with music of other cultures! Many Thanks. -Ey Delise
