Never shot a Howa but sound like a very well made gun and would consider one in the future. The trigger is a huge factor in accuracy. 3 lbs seems to be a good pull weight for both accuracy and safety.

The HACT trigger in Howa rifle is a really outstanding standard factory rifle trigger. It is much smoother and the let off is much more precise than the Accutrigger on Savage rifles. It is miles ahead of the X-Mark Pro crap Remington now uses as triggers. The only other standard production rifle that comes with a similarly great trigger as standard equipment is the CZ-USA rifle that comes with the CZ Single-Set trigger system.

I've not tried a CZ, but have tried all the others and a few you did not mention. The HACT is a great trigger, no doubt.

Tikka has a great trigger as well. It's single stage, but extremely crisp. Only wish it had the 3 position safety.

How do you adjust the trigger to 2 lb? Brought a new Howa1500, but no instruction available with the rifle to adjust the trigger pull.

Well, I think I'm almost sold. I might be selling my savage 12 243. Which is a great, rifle, extremely accurate. But at 10lbs+ with scope just to heavy for carrying around as a coyote gun. Been looking at a Howa varmint heavy barrel in 22-250. Think I'm pretty much sold. I was going to rebarrel the savage in 6.5 cm in a shorter barrel with a lighter contour. But that might lead me into having to get a new stock as well. I guess we shall see. Either way, Howa looks like a good choice for my next rifle. Like the action, and how beefy the recoil lug is, as well as it being part of the action. And this trigger seems like another selling point. That speaks good accuracy.

I have a lot of them and they are great rifles for my hunting uses. Far more capable than I am.

Kman31ca You complain about your Savage being 10+ lbs, then say that's why your looking at a howa but want a heavy barrel? That's like saying I don't like this 10lb sledge hammer cause its to heavy so I'm gonna buy this 10lb sledge hammer. Lol! Just get the Howa you know you want it.

I couldn't get mine to adjust anywhere near 2 pounds. I purchased a Howa heavy barreled 6 mm Creedmoor for long range shooting at steel and the HACT trigger really sucks. I've watched several videos describing how to cut the spring and make it a decent trigger but it is a shame that I have to resort to that kind of modification. The original Howa triggers were quite decent. It a shame that Howa dropped the ball on this "Highly Attorney Consulted Trigger".

Sir, you are a COmpLETE IDIOT, and you need to learn how to shoot if you actually think that....the HACT trigger in ACTUAL FACT is one of the top 3 triggers that a anybody can buy on the market today, and I've shot them all, starting in 1958 with an Allan-Timmney in a 03 Springfield, so you need to learn triggers dude.

That's odd, I had no trouble adjusting my HACT trigger down to right at 2 lbs, following the instructions. Smooth 1 lbs first stage, comes to a dead wall stop, then clean break at 2 lbs. You must have had had a one off lemon

Just got one today. My Winchester MOA trigger is better. The HACT has too much take-up, but other than that it's very good.

Nevada Sage it's a two stage trigger while the MOA is a single stage. Hence the take up
