Well one video. one coil took mine to exactly 2lb pull with the set screw in the middle of its travel. Great job!

I did this last night following another video (guy chewing gum). I cut too much I believe. The trigger functions, but I have almost no first stage and a slightly lighter second stage. There is too much variability in how the trigger feels from shot to shot. Sometimes there is a first stage that is bumpy and sometimes it’s just stiff and then bam. I tried tightening up the screw but that didn’t really help. So with that said. Do a little at a time.

Very nice presentation. I did my M1500 "chassis" rifle trigger a few years ago this way and it is pretty sweet. About to do the trigger on my M1100 Howa ,22 LR bolt gun as it has the H.A.C.T trigger which was a major selling point for me. I ordered a spring kit off thebay but I think it may be coming by Polynesian outrigger canoe , after three weeks still no sign of it.

Excellent video ty. Did you remove anymore or leave it at 3Lbs ?? I Just picked up a nice used vanguard Sporter in .223 and already know before shooting it, trigger pulls needs some luvin.

Man, I ruined my trigger. It's now one stage and brakes at maybe 20lbs. I took apart several times, and watched you pit it together, but no go. Not sure what I did. The safety doesn't work either.

Did you ever get it figured out. Sound like maybe you had something not put back together right or you removed too much off the spring ??

I think rather than go through this process, I will just buy an aftermarket trigger. I believe Timney makes one?

Hi David. Yes, an aftermarket trigger from a top company is probably ideal. But, I shoot in the production division of the Precision Rifle Series and per the rules, you must use a factory trigger. It can be “tuned”, as I did here, but a drop-in aftermarket isn’t allowed. I will also say, as far as factory triggers go, I think the Howa HACT is a pretty good two-stage trigger considering. Thanks for watching and good shootin’!

@@sharptoothoutfitters6483 Yes, I see your dilemma. I do not shoot that particular discipline and those I do shoot are a little more flexible.

Rather than spend a boatload on a whole new trigger, you can simply purchase spring kits that reduce your trigger weight. They are under $20, and swapping them takes under 15 minutes.
