Howard Morris is best remembered for his character on the Andy Griffith show and also one of the writers on the 1950s your show of shows which shows what a talented man he was but to understand his greatness, you people must see his film who's minding the mint made in 1967. This is a comedy film in the classic tradition. It stars basically an all t v cast. Can you imagine bob Denver as a sex symbol? Howard directed this forgotten masterpiece . A truly great comedy which needs to be rediscovered, I speak from the heart on this one.

If memory serves, "Who's Minding The Mint?" also starred Jim Hutton (who died very young) and Miss Dorothy Provine. Ms. Provine was best known as perhaps the one truly levelheaded Character in "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World." Oddly enough among other screwball Comic talents in The Movie was Howard Morris's old friend Sid Caesar!😂🎤📺🎥B.W.

He was also the voice of Jughead Jones in Filmation's Archie and Sabrina cartoons between the late 60's and early 70's. And he was SUCH a laugh riot in both, too, WAY better than the CW Network's Riverdale (which is the Archies crossed with 90210 and the X-Files 👎👎👎👎). But anyway, I had no idea he had a fallout with Joe Barbera, guess that explains his absence from Hanna-Barbera during the 70's.

Actually it's easy to replicate. Go and find four superversatile Seriocomic future greats on the level of Sid Caesar, Imogene Coca, Howard Morris, and Carl Reiner. Then give them precision timed Comic dialogue written by emergent Wordsmiths like Woody Allen, Larry Gelbart, and Neil Simon. Above all else no sinking to the depths of easy crassness (at least not on air). After that it's a lead pipe cinch.😏😂🎤⌨📺B.W.

I also like it when he gets upset at Mrs Wiley for calling him a 'creature'. maybe he was so popular, the cast felt upstaged and was jealous and that's why he wasn't on as much. I know that his son had a website devoted to him but I haven't looked at it in some time. of course he was great in nutty professor too. that movie is genius and I have to watch it every time that it is on. whoever stated that ' comedy is king' had it so right! but Ernest t goes down in history!
