I got assigned a two-person suite in East as well but my assignment doesn't say if it's standard or another size. Do we not find out until move-in day?

Hey Layla! I remember we were able to see our housing on StarRez and it said standard which we knew was the smaller room in Towers. 2-person suites usually were in 1 standard and 1 large. My year they did put 2 people in "larges" so it was meant there were 2 beds/desks to the original space meant for 1 bed/desk. Towers also has a 2-person suite that's a "shared efficiency" (may be a different name). So basically like a double in CHN/CHS but in towers and you get a kitchen. If it doesn't say the name as of now, you may not know until you get there. I never saw them try to put 2 people in a junior standard (smaller than my suite in the video) so it should be decent space for y'all both if it isn't 2 separate rooms. Also friends who had stayed in towers before me explained what they were assigned but the name didn't always match the size of the room. I've seen some standards that were as big as a large (the next size up). Some XL (next size up from a large) were on the smaller side. Depending on the floor/room number your sizing may differ.

Is this suite offered through Howard university or did you have to pay for it on your own? Like would this be considered a room and board suite that is on Howard campus? Love your video btw!

Thank you! 😊 It’s on campus housing. So it would be included in room and board, you wouldn’t pay for it on your own.

Would a couch fit even in a standard smaller than this?? Would you recommend waiting on buying the couch because of the uncertainty 🥴

It’s def possible, some of my friends had smaller standards than me with space. But it may be a tighter fit. I suggest waiting and doing the virtual measurements when you get there some apps let you place the object using your phone. Or actually measure your room when you get to campus and cross check futons/couches that match said measurements. Hope this helps and best of luck at Howard!😊❤️💙

If you’re referring to towers, the rooms are separate but everyone would share the kitchen and bathroom areas. Most times people are each assigned their own individual room.

For my suite it was only 2 people so I only shared it with 1 person. However towers does have 3 and 4 people suites as well. So you would possibly share with 2-3 other people. Hope that helps :)

Yes undergrads can stay here. Usually it houses juniors and seniors. But in recent times, sophomores have also lived here as well

Not that I know of. You could luck out in a shared efficiency and not have a roommate or luck out with not having a suitemate. But that’s a low chance

Are freshman’s allowed to stay here?

Technically they aren’t. They’ll usually try to place freshmen in the freshmen dorms first. If there’s a large incoming class, then they’ll place them in upperclassmen dorms afterwards. There were a handful who were placed in Towers this year.

Tianna Chanté aww thank you so much! 😭 so the freshmen dorms are Female: Quad, CHN, Annex. Sometimes CHS (upperclassmen dorm) houses freshmen girls as well Male: Drew, Cook Yes you can pick your dorm of choice closer to the start of school. They send out info and the process of doing so.
