I was waiting for him to mention Wally Boag, having read Martin’s book “Born Standing Up” several years ago and hearing my brother Tim in Chico retell your Disney stories and your dad’s important role in the early days of Disneyland and the movies. What a fabulous legacy.

When I was kid I saw Steve Martin perform at the Golden Horseshoe Review (?) in Disneyland. We loved it so much we came back for more. It wasn't until I read his memoir that I realized it was him.

Steve Martin seems to always be entertaining in his interviews,a rare commodity these days.On the "Tonight Show" most people were entertaining(brought out by Johnny many times),but a few people didn't need Johnny to be interesting AND funny.Hope,Rickles,Burt Reynolds,George Burns,Alan King,Red Buttons,Dean Martin,Jerry Lewis etc Today, only Steve Martin,Martin Short and Jerry Seinfeld fall into that category.

As a child, my friends and I wanted to break the streetlights so we wouldn’t have to go home. We were so naive. I don’t think we thought if the lights didn’t come on, it wouldn’t get dark. Maybe we did. We didn’t break them though…just wanted to.
