There is no truth, at least in the current generation of Indians, in the claim about a genetic enmity with Muslims. We don’t look at our history only as far as the last 300-500 years. What people of my age think about a common Pakistani is that we are the same People. We share the same history (long term history), same Culture and same language. Our forefathers at some point started following different religions but we were still part of the same land and culture called ‘India’. We actually find it very difficult to understand the obsession about defining the enmity with India - when frankly it only exists because of policies such as terrorism.
