I greased mine until I found the bearings are sealed. The extra 4 will come in handy when bearings go out. Mine are in the back of the barn. I use SunCo Tiger Paw now that we NT. I should give them away as these are not used around here. You will see a more uniform seed placement if you still have a few stalks in the row... might go faster with the smoother ride.

We have always gotten trash wippers on planters, we got a 2014 1775nt and it still has trash rippers for the occasional root ball or something

What I think you are going to miss is the wavy coulter that was on your old planter in front of the disc openers might not make a difference in tilled soil but in no till.. something needs to pulverise the soil ahead of the disc openers..Maybe the Row cleaner will help

Just curious about your "no tillage" efforts, I've read several studies that took place over the last 25 years and I'm curious what is your motivation in this area?

Wondered since you do row till if the planter had row cleaners. Now we know it didn't and you added them. Kind of think they are important in ensuring a uniform seed depth in high trash situations. Any corn plant that comes up a day or two late is probably just going to be no more than a weed.

Concrete sucks. Laying on it and working on stuff if very uncomfortable. And, the concrete gets marked up and it breaks down more than dirt will.

We have concrete and I love it. Helps in keeping parts clean, easy clean-up, firm base to jack from, etc...

That's not true in my shop. Who cares if it gets marked up, its not a show room floor, its a work shop. As far as breaking down, you must have got a bad batch. I've never seen concrete "break down" unless it was improperly mixed.
@Kllrkrtt309
@Kllrkrtt309 7 жыл бұрын
DesertDigger1 We have concrete from 1960 when our shop was built, barely showing chips on the edges. The stuff my dad laid about 10 years ago is excellent, I'm just talking about floor jacks with metal wheels scratching and leaving etch marks in the concrete making it rough. I like lime because it's fairly soft, and it's a good support for big heavy tractors or combines, etc.
