There are better performances he did of this song. Back in the day of Napster someone got a pristine recording from one of his shows and it is AMAZING. No fooling around, just fantastic vocals and a really good recording device. Hope he follows up on the Weezer & Weird Al cover recently release (2018) and does this finally on a new album (last release was awhile ago by Howie). He's touring right now, so maybe something is in the works.

You know what I hate more than people who throw away promising careers because they aren't willing to try? People who blindly defend their brash actions as if they are inspiring and noble. If you admire him so much, emulate him. Fuck around at your job like it doesn't mean anything. When you get laid off, we can have this discussion again. By the way, when this was recorded (2001) Howie Day had only been "active" for about a year. The weeks and weeks of toil wouldn't have set in that quickly.
