You can get a large cheese pizza in NYC for $13-$16 depending where you go and it’s 16”-18”, not a medium probably 12” 🙄 Chain pizzas are the worst. Can’t get anymore fake than chain pizza

Had some of the most fun I’ve ever had working at a Marco’s pizza. The store was ran by teenagers. Our general manage was the oldest at 32, but our assistant manager was only 25. The rest of us were from the ages of 16-19. Two of my best friends worked with me, and every day was a blast. The best part was, the pizza is really good, and we always got to eat the remakes

Ex Marcos Shift Lead here. Agreed! Marcos has a great work environment. I was at one that was understaffed at times. Our GM pulled 80 hour work weeks and some days I had to close all on my own. One time I got out at 4am on a Wednesday lol. But nonetheless it was such a fun job. I always got to bring home remakes to my parents and family!

Worked at Marco’s and I’ll give you the low down. The thin crust, frozen. Regular crust, made fresh daily and fermented overnight. Ask for a NY Style (might be Light Crust now). Old Style Sausage and Old World Pep over regular. Get all the crust toppers + Jalapeño Ranch. Don’t get the wings or salad. Ask for extra cheese on the CheesyBread. Enjoy!

Used to work at Marco’s. I’ll say this, they do make their own dough fresh every day. I used to do it. Also, they do have really good deals. One of my favorites was 2 large 2 topping pizzas, a cheezybread and a 2 liter for $25 which is a pretty snazzy deal

Marcos, for me, is my definition of "baseline" good pizza. It is the bar I set. I also may be slightly biased because I worked for one as my first job in 2011, but I can attest that the ingredients are usually top notch and all dough is made by hand and maintained properly. For me, if a pizza I buy tastes better than Marco's, and simultaneously has an equivalent cost or less, we're heading in the right direction for fantastic pizza!

If you ever make it out to the East Coast, there’s a chain called Vocelli’s worth hitting up. Mainly centered around Pennsylvania and Northern Virginia area. Fox’s Pozza gets an honorable mention as well. Their calzones and buffalo chicken pizza are the best chain versions I’ve ever had.
