My dear Ethan, I didn't know this beautiful piece of music. It has romantic accents, sometimes with a tempo di valse, showing the world carried away into a furious and crazy waltz on the planet with its inherent turmoil followed by soothing spells and sometimes a tempo di tango which makes me think of a beautiful tango full of rage and beauty. Thanks to the both of you. ❤ from René xxx

I like the sentiment as much as the music. It influences the playing and makes the music more poignant.

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you liked it. This was actually my first time playing a piece composed by a Japanese artist. It was a request made just a few days ago, and though I didn’t have much time, I hope I gave it my best shot. I can’t help but reflect on the profound experiences of the Japanese people, particularly the unimaginable suffering they endured after the two atomic bombs were dropped during World War II. As a nation, they seem to have gained a deep understanding of the importance of peace for humanity’s progress. The sentiment of that era, filled with overwhelming sadness and reflection, must have deeply influenced how their musicians convey emotion through their compositions. It’s a powerful reminder of how history shapes both art and music in meaningful ways.

Dear friend Thank you so much for your support and kind words. Your choice of this piece of music is truly inspiring. While there are countless beautiful works by many masterful composers, the moment I heard this one, I knew I had to learn it right away. It’s such a beautiful piece. If it weren’t for your suggestion and your request for me to play it, I might have waited until someone else introduced it to me on another day. So, it is you I must thank. Ethan

My dear Ethan, Continued May I suggest you would listen to 'El Choclo', a famous Argentine tango played by 'Eduardo Rojas' 10 years ago on YT. I expect your father and you will enjoy it. Please tell me what you think. Thank you so much for the joy you give us. You're an incredible pianist and your dad a rare and fantastic man. ❤ from René xxx

Dear Rene Right after I finish writing to you, I'll take a look at your suggestion. Just a few days ago, we received this request, and because we liked it so much, we decided to give it a go. We really hope you enjoy it! I hope you're doing well and managing to stay warm in Europe-winters there can be freezing at times. Take good care of yourself. In the coming weeks, I'll be uploading many more pieces of my music. I’ve been using my street performances as both practice and a way to share my music, as my time for formal practice is limited. Playing in front of a live audience gives me confidence and inspires me to learn even more wonderful tunes. Thank you, as always, for your valuable advice and guidance. I do apologize for the muffled sound in my recordings due to the blankets over my piano. Unfortunately, a particular couple next door isn’t too fond of the clear sound it produces. It’s a reminder that we all need to coexist and find harmony in our shared spaces. My family is committed to living peacefully wherever we are and appreciating the blessings we’ve been given. Perhaps, one day, our neighbors might attend one of my concerts and understand just how much effort I’ve poured into my music over the years. For now, we’re planning to relocate and set up a dedicated room for my piano, one that allows for better soundproofing during recordings. Thank you for your patience and understanding. As I mentioned before, there will be plenty of listening for you to do in the future-hopefully with less torment and anguish! I anticipate this lasting for many, many years to come. Warm regards, Ethan x

@@ethanluktin Dear Ethan, Thanks a lot for your so delicate, considerate and comforting words towards me, you're decidedly an astounding, charming and attractive youth. When I poorly played my Steck piano in my flat in Paris, it's a high straight piano with powerful bass, the adorable old lady living right below my flat used to say to me I always did the same false notes when playing Chopin's nice LA (A) minor waltz! Now the piano is in my small country house breathing a fresher air! By the way I place two open bottles of water in the lower part in order to 'wet' or water the wooden pegs where the strings are rolled to, though the frame is cast iron. ( a piece of advice the piano tuner gave me, especially in towns where the air is too dry for pianos). As for the tango El Choclo, I found bits of similitudes with How's.....something profound and tormented Indeed, I intend to listen to you the more I can, and though I'm no kin to you, I'm eager to see you and imagine what sort of a man you will be in your late teens. ❤ from René x

@@ethanluktin Dear Ethan, I don't know whether I feel entitled to say that. Sorry if it bothers you. I hope not. The left side in our body corresponds to Yang, the fatherly values. When playing this really nice piece of music I like very much, I think you are aware that your left arm only moved two times to your head, slower, in a more gentle way. You father is of a great help and always be, but may I say you are slowly becoming equal to him, as a partner. I don't have the right words to express what I feel. That shows you're evolving so fast, as if you were becoming the father to yourself. Of course as an adult your father can do administrative papers you still can't do. Is it because I'm working on you for these t.i.c.s to disappear? In a few months even weeks you'll feel free from them.❤ from René Warm regards.x

Dear René What an incredible person you must be! Beyond being a remarkable teacher in your domain-language, philosophy, theology, astrophysics, music, and so much more-you seem like a true polymath. And now, you’re adding l.o.n.g--d.i.s.t.a.n.c.e h.e.a.l.e.r to your list of talents! It’s amazing that you’re trying to h.e.l.p with my t.i.c.s, and it would truly be wonderful if you could succeed. My t.i.c.s are currently quite a nuisance, and they’re causing some complications. For instance, my father is under a bit of pressure after receiving an email from the exam school saying they may not be able to accommodate me for the IGCSEs back in the UK . They don’t have the facilities to set up an extra room for someone with t.i.c.s, as they prioritize 16-year-olds. But don’t worry-my father always finds a way. Imagine if you could help me get rid of these t.i.c.s-it would be life-changing! Right now, I can’t stop them, not even when I’m playing the piano. That’s why we’ve had to put plans for a solo concert in April on hold. Sometimes, my fingers act on their own, b.a.n.g.i.n.g on the k.e.y.s uncontrollably, and I have to explain to my dad that I’m not always in control. But please don’t be concerned. I see this as part of my journey-an opportunity to learn more about myself and my c.o.n.d.i.t.i.o.n. Thank you for your kindness, for thinking of me, and for even a.t.t.e.m.p.t.i.n.g to h.e.l.p. It means so much. Take good care, Ethan x
