Mixing and pumping clean air into exhaust makes it more cleaner, lmao!
@TechTrixInfo3 ай бұрын
That’s an interesting take, The secondary air injection system does indeed pump fresh air into the exhaust stream, which helps burn off leftover hydrocarbons and reduce emissions. It’s a clever way to make the exhaust gases cleaner, especially during cold starts when the engine is less efficient.
@spelunkerd4 жыл бұрын
If it is working as designed, it should have no effect on engine horsepower, and it more completely burns toxic exhaust. Surprising how critics don't even understand the basics of how this system works.
@Alexxx95_H2 жыл бұрын
If you pump exhaust gases into cylinder, you will have less oxigen, so you reduce the power of the engine. Also, you clog the inlet duct with soot. So this is the most idiotic engineering solution ever in the history of automotive! The only advantage is regarded to emissions during cold engine temperature. Everything else is a con.

thrs a one check way valve , exhaust is not going back in intake system... instead fresh air is added to exhaust gas for less emission (euro standard)
@TechTrixInfo4 ай бұрын
Hi, Thank you for your comment! You’re absolutely right that the secondary air induction system introduces fresh air into the exhaust stream rather than allowing exhaust gases to flow back into the intake system. To elaborate, the primary function of the secondary air induction system is to reduce emissions by injecting additional air into the exhaust stream, typically during cold starts. This additional air helps to complete the combustion process in the catalytic converter, which in turn helps to lower the levels of harmful emissions like carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons. The one-way check valve you mentioned ensures that the fresh air is directed properly and prevents any backflow of exhaust gases into the intake system. This design helps maintain engine efficiency and adheres to stricter emission standards, such as those outlined by Euro regulations. Thanks again for pointing that out!

A thing to consider - locate your secondary air valve, put a plate between the valve and intake, screw back together and enjoy a smoother engine run with a little less consumption. Why? Because your engine does not need to burn crap and stuff again that has been already burnt once. EU norms are idiotic, almost no matter which one you pick. With the secondary air system you get less emmisions, but you have to burn more fuell (and your engine gets crapped up quicker). Without it you pollute more, but burn less fuel and your engine is more likely to run fault free longer. The difference is almost not worth mentioning if you go deep and analyze how much energy and waste is being lost with producing the extra fuell needed to burn that crap instead of not burning the crap and just run smooth. And lets face it - big factories, ships and planes pollute the air way more than just all the cars around and nobody gives a damn, because it is easier to pick on the little guy. It is all just a way how to Fck with people and their stuff. Worried about emmision test once a while? Remove the plate, get your OK stamp and then put it back in. Since the rest of the car is fully electronically cotrolled you`ll get no engine light or whatever, because the system will adapt itself instantly. Who else doesn`t like adapting himself to better air :) Don`t trust my idea? Check Google for your specific car and if somebody else hasn`t done it yet.

like the video... if i use a secondary air system on my motorcycle what performance will i get out of it?
@_J.P._10 жыл бұрын
Using that will lower your performance output. Or leave it unchanged but raise your consumption. This is just a way how to lower CO2 for the office of idiotic ideas that own a stamp allowing you to drive around. More details in my later comment

+John Crusader I know this post is a year old and all, but I wanted to respond anyway. Using a secondary air injection system will NOT lower engine performance. Many motorcycles come with them installed from the factory. It also will not change your fuel consumption. The purpose of a secondary air injection system is to do 3 things. 1. Reduce HC(hydrocarbon, aka gasoline) emissions during the warm-up period. Not CO2. While CO2 does contribute to the greenhouse effect, it is a naturally occurring part of complete combustion. A secondary air injection reduces HC emissions by "injecting" filtered air into the exhaust stream, typically into the exhaust manifold(this is true also with motorcycles). This air then mixes with the hot exhaust gases, and causes any UNBURNED HC to ignite, completing the combustion cycle, and produces CO2 and H2O. 2. The heat produced by this burning inside the exhaust brings the O2 sensors, and catalyst up to "light off" temperature sooner. That means it helps other emissions components run faster and cleaner too. 3. Once the vehicle has reached a closed loop or to put it simply "warmed up", the injected air is directed only to the catalyst in an effort to reduce NOx emissions. The air bypasses the O2 sensors because the vehicle would read lean if air flowed passed them.

Ur therory is wrong... The sec air induction system is one way system of air indiction ...When the exhaust stroke happen the sec air induction valve should be closed ... Exhaust gas only escapes through exhaust pipe only not through secondary air filter
@dicksonporras95963 жыл бұрын
nice ... answer ... sir vignesh.... if the exhaust gas enter after through the air filter ... the cleaner get rough or burn .....and the engine wll hard to intake air....

What if induction sytem is being blocked?what will happen?
@TechTrixInfo3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cover, good question. Faulty secondary air injection pump will cause problems for the air-to-fuel ratio in your internal combustion engine. If this ratio is too lean (not enough fuel), then your engine will have trouble generating speed whenever you step on the gas pedal. Are you working in the automotive industry? If you have any doubts related to Automotive or Mechanical engineering, please feel free to ask.

doesn't work well. part of the air enters the muffler, exploding the residual, unburnt fuel inside the exaust.
