Wow.. what a footage fantastic .Went to the down memory when I saw these trams plying over Howrah Bridge. yellow & black cab along side yellow cabs. CSTC Special buses yellow & red also an original Made in England Leyland Tier Cub plying in special buses route. Feeling nostalgic.

Which Year ?? My educated guess: Before 1984 since there is not a single maruti 800! But after 1972. Why ? Simple Calcutta minibuses with distinctive maroon yellow colour was introduced in 1972 !! So the video was shot sometime between 1972 and 1984

It was an era when tata 1210 mini buses and public buses used to rule the roads. An era, when mini buses used to race up during office time, turning at high speeds, tilting buses heavily creating a panic among passengers. And it was the same passengers who used to throw abusive words to the drivers for making untimely delays for loading their vehicles. There was a nostalgia associated with it.

Bus no 215A, still this bus exists and plying from sector v to hwh. Good part is no smart phone, all were leading simple life. Seen 32A bus but now this is plying from belghoria to saltlake

১০ সেকেন্ডের মাথায় একটা ছোট লরি গেল। ওটা সেইসময় কলকাতায় বেশি চলত, শহরতলীতে দেখা যেত না। পরে ডিসিএম টয়োটা আর টাটা ৪০৭ এসে যাওয়ায় অবলুপ্ত হয়ে যায়। ওটা কী মডেল ছিল ? ৩৩ তম সেকেন্ডে দেখা হলুদ-কমলা স্টেট বাস ও আর দেখা যায় না।

Bedford most probably. Those were built by hindustan motors. Orange buses were S buses called special buses

That mini truck is Nissan 1 Ton truck...condemned military auction vehicle. Recently MS Dhoni purchased a modified Nissan 1 ton truck.

If u eliminate those bus and trucks, that bridge gives the feelings like in a european city. Specially that trum on the bridge. 💓💓 Cleaner, less polluted and less populated then mumbai delhi at that time.

It's horrifying to see that these local buses still run in Kolkata. It's been more than 30 years and these outdated engines belch black smoke and nobody bats an eye. While the tram being absolutely pollution free is targetted. It's sorrowful that only 2 tram routes are functional now

Yeah thats very sad. Government should update these trams. Anyways, more four Tram routes will reopen this year as i heard in the news. Shyambazar to Esplanade, khidirpur to Esplanade, rajabazar to bidhan nagar and shyambazar to howrah bridge. These six routes are permanent. And it will run as heritage.
