How to install Vacuum Pump Delete Kit on VW Jetta equipped with 2 5 L Engine

This Video explains how to Install a Complete Vacuum Pump Delete Kit made by Spulen on VW 2.5 L Engines.
The Vacuum Pump Delete part number is: SE-095
As mentioned, this is a complete Vacuum Pump Delete Kit and it comes with all the Hoses, Clamps and Hardware needed to complete the installation.
The Vehicle used for this Video is a 2007 VW Jetta equipped with a 2.5 L Engine and 5 Speed Manual Transmission.
These steps are similar for all other MK5 VW Models that are also equipped with 2.5 L Engines like Golf, Cabrio and GTI.
There is a different approach when removing the Vacuum Pump from Vehicles that are equipped with Automatic Transmissions and is not seen on the Video because the car has a Manual Transmission.
Before removing the Vacuum pump from a Vehicle equipped with an Automatic Transmission is necessary to detach the shifter cable from the transmission and is necessary to remove the Vacuum Pump cover to be able to tilt it and slide it out without having the need to separate the Transmission from the Engine for Clearance. ( You're welcome, I just saved you about 5 book time hrs. of unnecessary labor by doing it this way).

Thanks for the video, it helped a lot. Just one note, in my case, the screws that came with the kit look the same size you showed, but they did use almost half the threads, so they were perfect. No need to cut the original screws for reuse. I used of the original screws to hold the bracket.

Just finished this job on an automatic. Installed an Injen SP3026BLK intake at the same time. The toughest part was to get the bottom pump bolt off (T30). Eventually, I got it loose with a T27 skinny wrench and pliers. The 2nd hardest part was to remove the pump once it was loose. Once I got the shift linkage loose and its nuts off, there was just enough room, and I got it out. I also accidentally popped the car in neutral and it rolled. Had to jump in and pull the e-brake ;). I managed to keep the throttle body in place and work around it, but it was a challenge. Used rtv on the gasket like you did. Also, the MAF screws are not your average security torx, they're something else. There's no way I was going to look for the right tool for these damn things. I simply grabbed the outside of them with pliers and managed to remove them. The replacements are Allen type. Went for a drive and everything seems to be running well. Your video was definitely helpful.

Anything I should know regarding linkage removal? Is the linkage set at a certain position? Never removed the linkage before and want to know everything before I remove it

Nice video! Apparently, oil leaks were common with the first-gen delete kit, and the new kit has a cast/machined cover with a recess for an "O-ring", so the gasket is gone, and the need for messy sealant. Otherwise, it looks the same. I got a deal on a 2008 Rabbit because the owner had an estimate of C$700 to replace the vacuum pump. But I think I'll wait till the weather warms up before I tackle it, as its snowing outside in Vancouver. (wish I had a shop)

You can easily replace it search up vacuum pump replacement and it shows you take the cover off the pump along with the spinning plate inside and then maneuver it out using the stud that’s in the way

Excellent video. Thank you very much. You could easily remove the shifting cable and the shifting plate by just removing the circular end that keeps them in place (Time 13.33 in the video) they are underneath your hand. This will make it super easy to reach the vacuum pump volts and remove the pump.

Thanks for this video, unfortunately this kit is not available in my country and it will be too expensive to import it. I'll have to pay import duty which sometimes can be more than cost price. I'll keep changing the oil seal of the vacuum pump.

if you dont have the ultra grey sealer you can use a thin layer of oil along the gasket to create a seal.

I just did this last friday and my brakes dont work. At the end of the video you mention checking the brake petal, mine doesnt move at all its hard as a rock. Any sugestions.

I like how the battery cable ends are designed. It makes them much easier to get a wrench or ratchet onto being angled up like that. I am not sure how many other cars are like this but I have not seen that on anything else yet. It feels like they think of all those little things and redesign them to be easier to work on. It is true that not all parts in these things are going to be so easy to work on and that might be mostly because of the tight spaces they are crammed into. That is really a problem with any modern car and other cars are even worse. There is one more gripe I have, people who don't like Volkwagens because of "special tools" you need. What rock are they living under!?!?!? Most cars these days require use of a "special tool" for something. These ninnies make it sound like the dealer is the only person who can do ANYTHING with these cars. It is as if they forgot their shitty Hyundias aren't much different except for using parts from Korea. I just wish people would not spread such bad myths about these cars. it is true that sometimes they have transmission problems but who said automatic transmissions were trouble free? I feel somewhat lucky my only real problem since buying the car used was a parasitic draw on the battery that cost $2500 in parts and labor to track it down. I got the car with 96,000 miles and now have 154,000 and it still runs good and that electrical problem was pretty much the only headache I had to endure with this car. It may have been awful not being able to start it each morning but I am sure that some people go through things much worse.

I just put the vacuum pump delete kit on my 2012 passat 2.5, i let it idle for a few, turned it off, went inside to clean up, came out to drive off & my "oil pressure low engine off" light came on. Did a fresh oil & filter change as well. Any suggestions. PLEASE HELP!!!
