I thought the exact same thing! Herzog could create a movie about anything and anyone. I LOVE the man. He among other filmakers inspired me in my teens to become a filmmaker. Just turned 60, and became homeless, living out of my car. Likely I'll never achieve my dream, but dammit it is still within me as a dream. And to me, Werner's films have often been filmed dream states. So, guess I HAVE in a way been a filmmaker...!

Do you really think herzog would gloss over how despicable of a person he once was? Emphasising that is precisely what makes the “redemption arc” of his self awareness so profound. It certainly isn’t a tale of ‘look how flawless this man is’, but of how flawed-yet look how he adapted, astonishing

To think of how far he has come, how much he has evolved and what kind of a lovely human being he really is. If there was going to be a documentary on his life that I'd actually watch, not being into boxing myself, it would be something done by Werner Herzog. Ok but here’s something about the Frankish Kings that maybe even Herzog and Tyson don‘t realize: they are the ones who turned the Franks from free warriors into literal serfs. When Clovis conquered Gaul, the Franks were fearsome warriors. When Charlemagne passed half of Europe to his three sons, the descendents of those fearsome warriors were leal peasants bound to land and lord. That‘s one achievement the patriotic school system doesn’t tell you about.
