First off, Great review!! I'm definitely going to look into these tiles vs horse stall mats. Secondly, I couldn't help but think of the dog dug from the movie up while you were narrating this video. 😂You're tone and and voice overall matched really closely to the voiceover of that character.

Thorough review as always! The flooring makes a world of difference, it's so inviting to workout in that space now! My only concern is the thickness. I personally use virgin rubber mats that are 3/4 inch thick that are similar to horse stall mats except that they have speckle so looks great and no odor. They are also tiles so they're easier to carry instead of the usual 4x6 100lb mats.
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial11 ай бұрын
Definitely more inviting! I read that 3/8” is good for dropping up to 100 lbs on it. It will protect the weights and the floor from damage. Thicker is recommended for heavier things like deadlifts. It will suit my use no problem. I have pads for deadlifts. Your mats sound awesome. 3/4” is first class!

Thanks! I used commercial gyms for years and recently started building my home gym about 3 years ago. It’s been really nice. I started with a $200 power cage on a rug 3 years ago. It’s been a slow build.

After 10 months how is it holding up especially under heavy equipment and cardio machines? Does it still clean up easy? Thanks for this video!

I was just thinking about that! I can’t believe it’s already been a year. It’s holding up excellent. It still looks and feels exactly like it did when I installed it last year.

Do you think it's fine to not have anything under the tiles? I'm worried about moisture build up over time. Concrete foundations can change temps and direct "sealing" with rubber might trap moisture.
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial4 ай бұрын
That’s a good question to run past the rubber floor manufacturer. Mine has been in place for over 9 months with no issues.

@@HowtoandReviewsOfficial That's good to hear. I'd rather save the money by not spending on extra underlay.

Great video. I have been struggling on which thickness of rubber tiles I should go with. Most videos I watch, the home gym is in the garage or basement on concrete floors, but my home gym is in an extra bedroom that has hardwood flooring. I have been considering 1/2 inch rubber flooring for more protection for the wood flooring underneath. I don't plan on doing any Olympic style exercises and dropping weights, just the basic exercises. Do you think 3/8 inch flooring is sufficient to protect my wood floors?
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial9 ай бұрын
I have the below information saved from when I was doing some research and looking into it. Unfortunately, I do not know the source. Somewhere online. I recommend calling the rubber floor manufacturer and asking. I’m sure they will be able to help! 3/8 Inch or 10 Millimetres Thick This is the standard gym flooring thickness measurement you’ll find in a home gym or commercial gym. A mat of this thickness is ideal for most exercise equipment like treadmills and ellipticals, and high traffic weight rooms with 50-75 lb (or 23-34 kg) weights. 1/2 Inch or 13 Millimetres Thick If you’re looking for gym flooring for more heavy-duty workouts like Crossfit, then this size is ideal. Gym flooring of this thickness can withstand drops from weights over 100 pounds, protecting floors underneath. 3/4-1 Inch or Up to 25 Millimetres Thick This level of thickness is recommended for professional powerlifting, where 100+ pound weights will be regularly and repeatedly dropped on the floor. These mats are great for shock absorption, and will fully cushion any and all kinds of gym equipment.

Did you consider the rolled rubber that is similar to the tiles? If so, did you go with the tiles for ease of installation or some other reason?
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial10 ай бұрын
I briefly looked at it but didn’t consider it because it is not interlocking. I personally didn’t want butt seams all over. Plus, I had a lot of tricky cuts.

Did you get those fitness gear cast iron weights when they were on sale?
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial11 ай бұрын
I got the first set about 3 years ago, back when the normal price was $300. I think I used a coupon or something to get them for a little less. Shortly after that, the normal price jumped up to $400. I got the second set from Facebook Marketplace for $250 after hunting for way too long. I should have just got the second set new for $400. It wasn’t worth all the time I wasted searching for a good deal on a used set. They have been great! I have done two video reviews on them!

How was the pallet shipped? Via freight or Fed Ex? And did you have to be home when they dropped it off?

The pallet was shipped freight. Delivered by an independent big delivery truck. I had to be present to sign for it. I was instructed to check it for shipping damage before signing for it.

Where did you get the discount? If you don’t mind me asking? I will be ordering some from them and a discount would be helpful
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial3 ай бұрын
All of them had discounts on their websites and email newsletters around the holidays. December and January. The USAWA Fitness video linked in my video description has a 15% off discount code that works year around. But you can only use it once per person, so make sure you get all of the tiles that you need on the first order and don’t forget four tiles like I did!
@david5132-t2u11 ай бұрын
where did you get the coupon from?
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial11 ай бұрын
It was in December. Holiday codes on their websites. But I think they always have codes. I just checked Rubber Flooring Inc and American Floor Mats. They both have codes on their websites; 28% and 15% respectively. The USAWA Fitness video has a code for Rubber Flooring Direct in the video description.
