This is how you make orange wine from fruit. It is the only recipe you will ever need to make these three wines. Orange wine, Orange Creamsicle wine and Orange Banana wine all from the same batch.
This video is Part II of the Orange Wine, where we will rack the wine, add bentonite for filtering then bottling the Orange wine, Orange Creamsicle wine and Orange Banana wine
Wine making is so fun and be sure to watch all my fruit wine videos and once you tried it, you will never buy wine again.

I think now I have watched all of your videos on making wine. I have my first batch of wine (ever) on it's second fermentation. Actually 2 batches. We live on 2 acres and I grow my own grapes (and a lot of other stuff). I am planning on making a sweetened wine and I like how you and your wife sweeten it to taste! I'm planning on doing the same after watching your videos. I juiced my grapes first with a steam juicer (because I had not found your channel yet). Then I used the juice to make a 3 gallon batch with Concord grapes and a 1 gallon batch with some green seedless grapes which I do not even know the name of. So the concord batch for example is straight juice plus any water from the steaming process, it's very strong. It has a lot of fine sediment (pulp) in it. It is 3 weeks into it's second fermentation (racked once) and for example a bright flashlight will cannot be seen from one side of the 3 gallon carboy to the other. I did not add any clarifier to it when racking the first time. I did add bentonite to the white wine to see what that would do. It has helped a little so far on that batch. I am wondering on the Concord batch if I should use the Super-Kleer on the next racking to see if it can clear this up. What are your thoughts on how I should clarify this batch and do you think the Super-Kleer leaves behind any chemical that you would be ingesting later?

If you have alot of sediment in it just rack 2 or 3 times 30 to 40 days between rackings. then hit it with bentonite or super kleer

Why do you prefer the bentonite to the Super Kleer? (Chitostan / kieselsol)
@HowToDoneRight
@HowToDoneRight 25 күн бұрын
Bentonite just seems more natural right out of the ground. A natural filter... Super Kleer is going through a process to get it in liquid form. But I use both when necessary. They are both great products and both are in my wine supplies all the time.

Hi after racking my orange wine 3 times I have lost a little over a gallon is it ok to refill the gallon with orange juice?? Can not find store wine to use i have used 6 campden tablets all ready and back sweetened to taste
@HowToDoneRight
@HowToDoneRight Жыл бұрын
If you are at Bottling stage don't add orange juice unless racking again. That will have very fine particles. You can use any kind of wine does not have to be orange for top off.

After primary fermentation you have transferred it in to two carboys. How many days you keep it before racking it to add Bentonite.

Know you use tap water but Is there a difference in the taste of you use bottle water rather than tap water with the chemicals that they put in it
@HowToDoneRight
@HowToDoneRight Жыл бұрын
I did alot of research on this. Wine needs some of the minerals that Is in tap water. Some bottled water will not have those necessary minerals which is a key component to wine. If you have good tap water don't be afraid to use it. If you have poor water quality bottled water may be the way to go. Great question. 👍👍😁😁🥂🥂

I get sanitizing the bucket and bottles, but the shot glass, the straw, the outside of the bottles etc… seems a little much. In my history too much chemicals leads to too many health problems down the road. Just my opinion. Also isn’t there something more natural you could sanitize/flush everything out with other than a chemicals? For example in the manufacturing world they use cocoa butter to flush/clean equipment. Now I’m saying that’s what you should use however there must be something.

Star San is safer than drinking a bottle of soda in diluted form. It is food grade and very safe. If you ever eat dinner out you have consumed sanitizer. It is much safer than ingesting the wrong bacteria into your body and most restaurants use star san. Don't be afraid of it.
