I've spent 2 yrs in depth of the Tanahk (OT), and the amount of times God shows his mercy and grace is amazing. When you start looking for it, it just jumps out at you, and the OT no longer feels or looks different from the NT.

I have a friend who names her cat "hesed" so she could then explain the odd name and thus explain the steadfast love, faithfulness, and grace to everyone. I named my cat Jace for the same reason (clearly a transliteration, since Hebrew doesn't have the letter "j").

I love how when God is describing His love and compassion in the OT, He uses the attributes of a mom. I can understand the love of a mother and it makes me cry every time. In Isa. 66.

Our pastor just taught us this word when giving a sermon on Psalm 13 two weeks ago! He defined it as unfailingly love, steadfast love. Thanks for the video.

I have Exodus 34:6 marked with several notes...all stemming from taking your Bible Study Boot Camp, then in reading through the OT with the Reading Plan. I had never SEEN the Hebrew "Hesed" before that. Now, I find "Hesed" everywhere in the OT. God's steadfast love is pure & so beautiful. I can't thank you enough for emphasizing this!!

Hi, I was wondering the meaning of Selah on the Bible
@HowtoFaithALife15 күн бұрын
There's a bit of debate around it but most agree it was some sort of musical, reflective, interlude

I love how God's love shows throughout the old and new testament. It's like the old testament is God manifesting His love to them to prepare them for the messiah and the new testament is seeing that love and promises unfold as the messiah or Jesus Christ comes

Jesus is in both the Old and New Testament. In the OT, He actually appears preincarnate and you’ll also see parallels between people and/or their stories in the OT that point to Jesus.

Yes, it points to his loyalty and love as it relates to covenant. When you do a deep study of covenant you really begin to understand what hesead is all about. In the western world covenant doesn't mean much more than a promise..but these people understood the seriousness of covenant relationships. A study of what a covenant is and means is well worth the time!
