My husband is from Israel but moved to America when he was 5. His entire family speaks Hebrew fluently, except for him. When I was pregnant the first time I started trying to learn and can read it/sound out the letters (but still don’t know what everything means 😅). @gavins.9254 Жыл бұрын
@@charlotteevans7868 when learning any accent without very young exposure, your accent will be imperfect. but, just like any other language you will develop a natural accent and become more confident with your pronunciation. it happened to me when i learnt english and french (i have an american friend who asked if i was american, im norwegian 😂). but, regardless, i highly encourage you to learn this beautiful language!! good luck!

@@charlotteevans7868 Accents are beautiful! As Israelis we love hearing them because they are so special (and we love asking questions so it's a good point to start a conversation from). Your Hebrew is fantasti! I basically taught myself Ivrit - I made it a rule only to speak Ivrit to Israelis when I lived in Aretz. And years later in Chul, I studied on my own by listening to programs like Arie Vardi's Intermezzo Im Arik when he had Israelis so they spoke in Ivrit without subtitles, or to army videos, such as Aviv Kochavi talking to the chayalim in Ivrit again without subtitles. But your Ivrit is so idiomatic, and your mivtah is beautiful! Kol Hakovod. Tagid li, why does the Israel Philharmonic "translate" a Na'ami Shemer song like Al Kol Eleh with "English" that bears no resemblance to the Ivrit? So annoying!
