It never ceases to amaze me the things you can do with metal. It’s tough but forgiving. If you fuck something up it can be cut out and replaced. You can add pieces without living a trace of a seam. It’s just the ultimate medium to shape and you my friend are a master.

Simply brilliant. Very well done. I will integrate this video into my classes when teaching new armourers. Thank you!

it's hard work even with modern tools and materials, just imagine how much harder it was to make this sort of stuff without power tools hundreds of years ago.

I will be making splint cuisses and greaves this weekend. I will definitely use your methods for making the knee protection. Flawless work as always.

Damn, that's awesome! How are you getting the brass color onto the steel? Are you able to do this with other colors as well? Because i'm looking at trying to do a black and brass colored armor piece in the future.
@ethanjones56234 жыл бұрын
A little bit of a wire brush rubs off on the piece, aided by the heat he applies before brushing. You can kinda get this effect without heat, but it won't go on as easy or last as long. It's a brass brush he's using, so just coating the steel with brass.

I don't think this armor is hardened so you should be able to Temper color it... I think. links to wikipedia: 1.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tempering_standards_used_in_blacksmithing.JPG 2.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempering_%28metallurgy%29

Hahahaha, I'm sitting here watching the end of the video wearing a chest plate and right arm sleeve, made of cardboard and duct tape as a Halloween costume/example for the real one that I plan on making over the next year. I saw the very end of the video where he's wearing leg plate helmet and has a shield, and I realized I'm wearing all the armor he's missing from that set

How do you turn the steel gold? Is there something special about the buffing wheel or what's in the buffing wheel?

Красиво! Но смущает, что при ударе сверху в колено нижняя часть поножей может повредить верх голеностопа.

I have questions: How do you guard against repetitive stress injuries? If you punched somebody with your hammer hand, how hard would they die? Are you an immortal who's been making armor for centuries? Because your skill level and knowledge of ancient Ukrainian magick would seem to suggest that.

if there is such a thing as talent it is the gift of having the passion and dedication to put in the time required to master something, not an innate ability to be good at it.
