How to we put date in fields parameter

I'm struggling to understand the need for parameters when we can write measures and use slicers. Is there uses beyond their capabilities or better used in certain scenarios?

The slicer is used to control which field is shown. So the slicer wouldnt work to change the field unless you use a parameter

I think if you don’t have enough space in the dashboard and you have the same data for x and y-axis for multiple measures, you can use this one. You will only need 1 graph and a measure switch to show multiple measures
