As much as l love the olive green as a colour, the colour that you have right now is so beautiful and calming. Maybe for colour you can bring it in the room with furniture and art. Maybe olive green sofa with gold accents in lamps, gold leaf frames.

This room after your guest bathroom is my favorite so far. I love the current colour but definitely agree with some viewers who like the idea of adding olive green in your soft furnishings, throws, pillows and or artwork. Whatever you decide to do it will be amazing as always I'm sure!

Anna initially I thought the new color would be a good choice but once you gilded the mirror I just loved how the existing color and the mirror complimented each other. The mirror is just beautiful. Perhaps incorporate the olive color in the room with fabrics , art and area rugs ? I’m sure what ever you decide it will be as lovely as the rest of your home. Philip you light up a room when you enter so no surprise you could light up the chateau….seriously it’s so nice. Loved the drone footage of the village twinkling in the distance.

The olive color will look as fantastic as what is on the walls now. The salon has lots of light which helps keep richer colored walls from making the room too dark. The white painted wood trim and windows also keeps it brighter. Can't wait to see what you do! 🙂

I can totally see how a darker color on the walls would accent the stone of the fireplace better. Plus you have such a bright and airy kitchen, so it would be nice to have a livingroom that has a completely different vibe. Plus it adds to that classical "every room is a different color and mood" that's so iconic for chateaus, castles etc.

Adding my vote to those recommending leaving the color and adding beautiful olive tones in furnishings, curtains, and artwork. Pops of pink or terra cotta with the olive could also look lovely, and all would complement the current color and gold gilding.

I think the paint you have already in this room looks lovely enough. Maybe use your yellow print as fabric curtains will give some colour and use the red from the geometric type pattern you did on pillows and do a velvet green sofa. Yes change the mirror add a little gold why not. I say use what you have and make small changes. You have plenty of furnishings in your attic as well. Add some lamps maybe shelving. Or paint green the lower panels in the room the inside of panels. Add some really big plants :) Philipp is an electrical wizard :)

What a wonderful vlog episode!! With the gold leafing, it reveals such beautiful details in the previously white frame that couldn't be seen before. Bravo! Also, the lighting that Philip did turned out perfectly! As for the previous breakfast room's wall color, I find the current color perfection! It seems to capture the beautiful glowing quality of the outdoor light in Normandy and to bring that inside. I agree with the many comments that suggest using the olive green in your furnishings and/or art.

I do like the dramatic warmth of the olive. With lighter fabrics and wood pieces, like Beidermeier style furniture, would really pop against that rich olive. You're a colourist Anna. I believe that you will always choose the best colour for a room. I've never said, but I love that you added curves to the gravel portion of your landscaping. I absolutely LOVE the olive green. You guys have talked about not really having many "cozy" spaces in the chateau, and an olive green would make this room delightfully cozy, if that's how you intend to use it. Anna the colour your thinking about is very similar to what I painted the walls in our formal lounge, dining room. Teamed it with burgundy , olive green and gold upholstery, mahogany furniture and large carved fireplace and lots of gold framed art work. Looks very elegant.
