My Syracuse Professor designed this project, very cool to see you taking inspiration from it.

Nice tutorial but I think this was a way to complicated method. In my opinion the better way in 3 staps would be: 1. Based on the plans draw a flatened outline of the circumference edge of the pavilion. You get a 2D curve with all the same bends and the same horizontal leght as the outer circumference of the pavilion. 2. Use the "slab from polyline" function to apaly the depth and thickness to create a straightened polysurface version of the pavilion. 3. Draw a base line under the straightened pavilion and in some distance a circle with the circumference of the finished pavilion. Then use the "flow along curve" function. The perfect finished pavilion in abaut 15 minutes or less.

Hey Christian, Thanks for your comment! Yes, this was my initial plan, exactly as you described it. However, "flow along surface" (there is no "flow along curve" as far as I know) command didn't work. This is the setup you're talking about right? drive.google.com/file/d/1tDHzSnA1GAO2qXlIVjMTpzzAxwP5rga_/view?usp=sharing I was getting very messed up geometry with this approach, so that's why I chose an alternative approach from the tutorial.

@@HowtoRhino I use Rhino 5 for Windows and I access the "Flow along Curve" function from the Menu bar under "Transform". There I have both functions, Flow along Curve and Flow along Surface. It definitely works because I did an object loosly based on the pavilion in this method to see if it works already before I wrote the comment. Could be a difference between the program versions. Rhino is my favorit 3D modeling program, I used it for the last 10 years, and there is still a lot of commands that I discover as I go along, or only now ralize their potential. I some times catch myself using some personal goto functions that are not always the fastest, so there is still a lot to discover. drive.google.com/file/d/1isI5OYz9O8tnhBLQa1SuhPY9xCb_qyuU/view

@@Oliver-my1fc Ah I see what you did there. That command is activated by just typing "FLow". Well, I have to admit, this is what I should've done in the tutorial, I may upload a piece of additional information about that one in the future. We definitely share the same love for Rhino and I agree with you that there are always new things and parts of Rhino to learn and discover. That's why I love it and enjoy using it everyday :D I wish it got more traction among the professional community and schools as Autodesk is really pushing to dominate the market. Thanks for sharing this tip! Cheers!

Sorry I’m a new user. Isn’t easier to just create a circle offset it , then planarsrf, split it using radius lines, elevate each surface, extrude their edges down, join then fillet the edges ?

Hey thanks for the video , could you also show a way to make a version of it which is ready to fabricate as in real project. How can we create the wedge system after attaining the geometry. Thank you

Hey Bharat, this is something that is a bit more complex, we are preparing this for our course. The module will be about digital fabrication and 3D printing.

Good work on the tutorials but this is not the best approach as Christian mentioned, His method is easier but still creates a realy spline like line which should be avoided for production reasons. Another easy way that does give clean lines and surfaces is to use the “Fillet edge” command. That way you can use fillet on a curved line (or or actually a straight edge) and get a very control-able result. Start with a planar disc, trim it, raise parts up to correct height, make vertical surfaces between edges, join surface fillet edge and offset surface. done! Nice work on the tutorials though! keep it up

Hey Thomas! Thanks for your comment! Yes, I agree about that. I also replied to Christian's comment saying that I missed that :D so you have the point there totally. It happened in this case that I didn't choose the right approach, but it's interesting how there are so many ways to get the same result. Good point on the "fillet edge", that would've worked as well. Thanks for visiting the channel and for all the supportl! We're just warming up :D How to Rhino is here to stay!

@@HowtoRhino Thanks, if you can do something inspired by origami, like (CRANE PAVILION), (Klein Bottle House) or (Brooklyn Center for digital creation), that will be great.

32.5 is the outer radius, not the inner radius. whereas here you have taken the inner radius as 32.5........
