I have a great respect for Indians. They fought along side us in Gallipoli especially hauling the artillery and water as well as the wounded. They fought like tigers on the western front and were used as cannon fodder just like us. They never get the respect and thanks We are brothers in arms.if they have a dig at us through humour they are displaying the very traits that make us more alike. I had a good giggle.

+Crashandburn999 Not its not mate. Its funny satire but its not the truth. A real Aussie would know why we all don't move inland its because the land is uninhabitable. Unless you want us all to become fuckin nomads? Even then there isn't enough underground rivers or oasis like Africa to give us water. China wants us to all move inland so they can invade us and bring all their people here and make us starve and die in the centre of Australia while they live it up in our country's coast.

Okay. This is actually brilliant satire. Apart from a few 'oh boy, they went there's, this is a legit comedic take on Aussie culture, lingo and racial politics. ***** I am indeed aware of who wrote and produced this series. I also agree that it is funny. But racism and the derision of the working class are not justified by wit nt permitted by birth.
@esselle6235
@esselle6235 10 жыл бұрын
mattharcla Yes, I'm with you on that. However, I would posit that the series is not actually instigating racism against Anglo Australians or intending to encourage derision, but rather it is propping up a big mirror before the face of white Aussie customs, vernacular and its relating attitudes toward ethnic and cultural difference. Exaggerated as it may be, and obviously not technically accurate (if one is to be pedantic), I think it is necessary for things to be stretched in order to magnify what we daily dismiss and shrug off as "normal". Perhaps the inflammatory nature of its content has more to do with the state and reality of Strayan culture than the satirical take on it.

@@DanceClubMusic_ I for one will agree that the aggregate average summation of our country's psyche is very stringent and rigid. But with that said, the millennials are setting up a benchmark in terms of accepting and enjoying subtle humor. Aussies and Indians are pretty similar when it comes to casual racism and enjoying public holidays. Only difference is that an Aussie will acknowledge the fact that he/she is a casual racist while an Indian would lose his shite if someone called him one. But that's because our economy and social hierarchy isn't laid back and relaxed such as the Oz. Especially when the country's has had horrendous riots in the past after the partition. But yes, the newer generations have thicks skins. Cheers

This is absolutely brilliant! I'm an Aussie & can relate to it all, especially the camping. Every chance my dad got, he would bundle us into the Holden & take us camping. All the adults did was sit around drinking & talking rubbish! I love your videos 😂

The station wagon had a Holden car club thing on the back window. These guys period sets are fantastic, well apart from the mobile phones in some earlier eps, the decor, back yards, cars, the whole lot. Excellent work whoever they are!

I'm laughing my arse off and I'm sure there's plenty of other Aussies that would be getting a kick out of Indians taking the piss out of our stereotypes, just like I'm sure there were Indians who appreciated Apu Nahasapeemapetilon... but reading through the comments it seems the ability to find humour in a situation is decreasing, regardless of the colour of the skin you live in and it's much easier to get hung up on the differences between "us" and "them" than focus on how much we all have in common.

I'm an Aussie and this channel cracks me up. I recommended to my mate Krishna at the local garage, who's from Hyderabad in India and he laughed his tits off. Most of us can see the funny side, Indian immigrant, home grown, or from wherever...this is a very multicultural slackarse country, lol.
