Products → www.howtowithd... Doc applies the lawn grub killer and the last fertilizer of the fall season. It's time for the lawn to slowly go to sleep and we should NOT be doing anything that might need growth repair.

Located in Michigan, I have been told conflicting strategies for lawn applications. "Once on Memorial Day, Once on Labor Day" is a very popular strategy here for fertilizing. No one could give me a strategy for grubs, fleas, ticks, and other insects along with fertilizer. Your strategy sounds logical so I am going with it right after I test. Thank you for breaking it down for those of us that are not lawn gurus!

I did the Andersons fall fertilizer two weeks ago and I'm doing super juice every 1-2 weeks. I was doing the PGF complete, but I like the larger pellets of the other one. I can see where it's going better.

I keep finding small holes dug in my yard. Could this be something looking for grubs? I know some of it is squirrels, don’t know what to do about that.

Hi Doc, love your videos! I’m in the cool season and I have grubs now. I didn’t have them this time last year but I did have a professional lawn care company, now I’m doing it myself. I also have clover hopefully I can spot treat that!

Hey doc! Can you do me a HUGE favor, please! A class I am taking for landscaping taught me that phosphorus can create alge blooms and kill fish and can create other environmental concerns! Can do you a video on that and why it shouldnt be added if you have extreme high phosphorus on soil samples! Also, how long does double product residual last? Is it like a pre emergent or is it like a post emergent herbicide? Thank you so much for your time and education!!

Do you think because you put dirtbooster down with all that corn and nutrients caused the bugs , grubs and army worms a good source of food to attract them? Just a thought

I haven't seen any grub damage this summer in our common bermuda but we have a couple anoles (Anolis carolinensis) and they eat beetles (and other arthropods); I'm skipping the grub killer.

Hi im in need of advice i live in Michigan and i had a major grub and June bettle problem last year i want to make sure i do everything right to fix my problem in 2025. I heard products that are preventative like grub out or grub ex are not effective to kill mature june beetles. It also says the larvea and mature beetles dig to survive over the winter. So is my best course of action to lay duocide down in May as a curative then lay grub out or grub ex twords the end of June. I want to get them before the mature ones that are already in ground decide to lay eggs in june and need to kill my existing larvea and mature beetles. Thanks for your help

so I seeded a common Bermuda lawn early July (going strong). I was told to wait at least 4 months before I can use pre-emergent so my first application should be in the spring. Do you agree or what would you suggest?

How many double kill treatments would you typically do if you think you have a pretty bad grub issue? Thanks! Your videos have helped me so much during this first year of maintaining our sod. Looking forward to next season looking even better.

Hi Doc. What do you mean by "warm season guys" and "cool season guys"? I live in Newport News, Va. Am I a warm season guy or a cool season guy. I'm about half way through aerating my lawn. Am I making a mistake by aerating? Too late now to stop half way. Thanks,
