Thank you so much for this tutorial! Very detailed and to the point. I purchased this desk last week and the person I asked to help me has been stalling. I am a girly girl, never used tools before. This morning, I purchased a tool kit from Target and followed your tutorial to get this done. I built this desk 4 years ago but lost the manual and now needed to take it halfway apart to fit a monitor mount in between the surface piece and the legs before putting it back together. Watching your video in reverse helped me take it apart in the right order without breaking anything 👍.

Best step by step ever. I had this desk sitting in the box for quite sometime and after pulling out the directions I could not make heads or tales out of it. A million thanks for this video and IKEA should consider paying you in some way because if you continue to make videos like this building other of their products I’ll reconsider buying more of these type of assemble yourself products knowing I have your videos to guide me.

This is a late like and comment. I used your video to assemble my Micke IKEA desk-not because I lack experience with their furniture but because I’m visual and color helps but I really HATE those little black and white picture schematics they use. For once it was a quick and pleasurable view to see and follow your instructions-not to mention it only took me about 30 min to complete....that timing might be because I’ve spent hours in the past on assembling bigger desks and those annoying alex 9 drawers but love the use of them. One thing about Ikea, you can always go to their service desk and ask them for extra hardware and have them print out manuals anytime. For free....assuming you are just asking for a few extra hardware parts.

I just followed this walkthrough to build my Micke desk, it was all going well right until the end, the keyboard draw doesn’t close 100%. None the less thank you for this! It’s better than the manual to be honest

Try to tighten the screws where the drawers slide in. Make sure the screw head is not too visible or popping out. Also the screw should be in the hole almost in completely. It’s extremely crucial for the drawers to smoothly work :] This happens when you used screw driver by hand.

This video came in handy for installing the cam nuts and cam screws. Had to make sure the screws were deep down in there so the cam nuts would fit and lock into place.

This is so helpful! I recommend you buy the Rissla desk pad from Ikea for this desk (I paid 30 euros). It's a big rigid board made of steel, covered with fake leather, 86 x 58 cm. It exceeds the edges of the desk so you get good extra space and it looks very stylish.
