What good timing! I ordered one last week and it came in today. I noticed my pant already has a peduncle, and I think I see another peduncle forming on another node. I hope I’m lucky enough to experience the blooms as well.

This is the most beeeutiful bloom ever. Mine arrived with 3 little flowers that fell off as I unwrapped the hoya. I can’t wait to see it. Thanks for sharing . I know Mero from Basie plants presented his blooming wonder, but it did not compare to thise blooms. Sorry Basie, Fonnie out did your Thompsonii.

It's a darling and I appreciate the information. I am getting reading to transfer mine into a self watering pot. Would it be correct to say this hoya prefers to hang rather than trellised?

Hello Fonnie I watch and enjoy all of your videos! I have this Hoya and I have a question. I’ve heard some people say that it likes to trail, as you have yours, and some say trellis. 🤷🏻♀️ Mine is currently on a trellis. What is your opinion? Maybe it doesn’t really matter one way or the other. Mine is quite young and hasn’t flowered.
@tfyfonnie2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, Lynn☺️ I think both trellis and trail down work😊 normally for bigger leaves hoya, if you trellise it, it grows bigger/ more leaves. But since Thomsonii leaves are quite small, for me, the leave size stays the same. And I like the shape of trailing it down more🤗🌱

Do you think this Hoya would do ok with lower humidity?
@tfyfonnie Жыл бұрын
I have kept Hoya Thomsonii in both room environment (around 20-40% room humidity) and milsbo cabinet (around 70-90% humidity). It grows much faster in milsbo. However when it was in lower humidity, it still survived😊

@@tfyfonnie thank you so much! Helps me decide if I should buy one or not. It’s in my cart and really like the hairy leaves. Have a great Hoya day!

@@sarahschnapp5679 You can begin with the plant in a plastic bag to give it lots of humidity. When it has grown larger, you open it slowly. Once it's big enough, it will bloom beautifully even in dry indoor conditions. For me, it took four years for it to bloom, but then I hadn't make it grow faster in humid conditions. (I do it with a lot of other hoyas now.) I can also confirm that once the days are shorter than 12 hours, the buds begin to show up. The winters are very dark in Sweden, so I use extra light, but always shorter than 12 hours. I use a kind of selfwatering pot too and it likes it. First time it bloomed, I got more than 20 umbrellas and the scent filled several rooms. Slowly, one umbrella after another opened so I think the total blooming time was two months. My very best favourite!

How do you care for your thomsonii? I got one last Feb and all it did was lose its leaves. 🥲 I never let it too dry, it's not in direct light. Almost all of the leaves are gone now. I want it to survive but I don't know how to help it. 🥲
