I used to do that in the Version 3 era back when I was a relatively new player. I still enjoy the boss fights, but I no longer need to do more than three of them per week. I also don't level up all of my characters' talents passed level 6, and I'm selective with who I give crowns to. Nahida is the only one triple-crowned, because she is my Number One favorite character.

Well, here's the thing: players who use Zhongli know that he's a net DPS loss for most teams, but they still use him because of how easy and comfortable everything becomes with Zhongli in the team. New DPS characters like Arle, Mualani, and Neuvi have such high damage output that the damage loss from using Zhongli doesn't really matter unless you're planning to speedrun.

please note that Neuvillette’s strongest team consists of Furina, Kazuha, and Xilonen. Zhongli is very good for breaking geo shields in Abyss, good for Bow Charged Attackers and characters without built in interruption resistance.

This is unironically the best way to avoid burnout. Eventually, characters will be powercrepped. Meta constantly changes. Most characters can clear 90% of the content in the game anyway.

I got Zhongli in December of 2020, when he was first released, before the buffs. I always run him. He is by far the comfiest character in the game. It's not even about shielding you from dmg, it's that he protects you from those annoying stagger animations. Especially if you're a newer player who doesn't have a lot of units, I really cannot recommend him enough

I don't see what's so disappointing about this? Zhongli one of the best shielders, Neuvillette one of the best DPS characters running with weapons they always run with. Sure vortex sucks but let's not act like that wasn't super predictable. Fischl is still a premium 4 star, Yao yao is a good dendro healer from my limited usage of her and heizou while I've never used him I've seen him do some crazy things

I’ll second this, Yaoyao’s great. Can replace multiple meta characters on any team, great Furina teammate due to her crazy burst, her little bunnies can also trigger Raiden’s E, so that can be abused in most hyperbloom teams. Not to mention she’s easy to build, can hold deepwood, and great user of Tenacity. She can stay low level(70) and still be effective. Three star weapon also works great on her (the slime banisher?. 70% slime dmg passive one). And she’s such an easy pick in CO-OP, you can also just make her generate crazy energy by running some ER mainstats, high substats. Great character.

I don't understand why so many people put down Zhong Li. Yes, he was dethroned by Xilonen as the best Geo character, but he is still far and beyond the best shielder in the game who can be put on almost any team. Hoyo will never allow Zhong Li to be powercrept as a shielder. Citlali is looking to be a more niche unit. I would not put her the same level as the Geo archon.

Zhongli is universal but as more units got released they kept chipping away at him with situations now where other options feel better: we have interruption resistant hypercarries, refreshing shields on units that can buff too, units with flexible dps windows... they're diluting where you would typically turn to him to round out a team comp. Literally erosion now that I think about it

I keep hoping they will add a killer Zhongli weapon. Venti got a signature weapon added on a rerun that has great support utility, why not Zhongli? Make an HP stat stick with big buffs for the active character tied to the shield. Because it would be tied to the shield you could have something a bit better than peak patrol song. Or if they insist on the weapon enabling his DPS, make it give big HP scaling on normal/charged/plunging with a Geo infusion.

@noa_yamatori doesn't work against bad elemental checks. You want Furina, C6 Yun Jin, and C6 Mika if possible. The key is to abuse Physchl's C1, a 33% atk scaling coordinated physical normal attack. This let's her use two Yun Jin stacks per hit and she can easily go through all 30 stacks in under 10s with Mika. But Oz has to be off the field for it to work. Just don't forget to trigger superconduct before becoming a gatling gun!

As Neuvillette main since 4.1 I'm really pissed I got him on 4.1, got furina and her c1 for him in 4.2 (already had kazuha and zhongli) ,got his c1 on his first rerun and upgraded his team with xilonen and her weapon on 5.1 and was planning to finally get his weapon and now I'm just not gonna risk it, i don't think i can ever emotionaly recover if i accidentally get "vortex vanquisher"

I desperately wish Vortex was better for him as a shielder, I use the craftable Fontaine polearm on Zhongli and it looks awful on him and I try my hardest to match aesthetics and function and theres so few HP polearms in the game to choose from 😭 but just a few more days and Ill have c2 Zhongli to make him the comfiest shield and I can cross that must pull off my to do list. Just hope hes kind to my primo stash, I huff copium all the time hoping well see a Wriothesley rerun before the end of Genshin as a whole

Not only that, but most DPS characters nowadays deal so much damage that you'll still easily clear with Zhongli. The DPS loss doesn't matter at that point. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to over invest into DPS when you can still have a team that will easily clear while also giving you some survivability.

META means “most effective tactics available”, not “most popular tactics available”. Most theorycrafters are catering toward the META, and likely that’s why they are saying it is less optimal than other options, as the other options clear faster. How to make a good 4* lineup for weapon banners: No Dragon's Bane. At least 2 limited 4*s, at least 1 of which is good. No Dragon's Bane. At least 2 Fav weapons. Depending on how good the other 4*s are, you might be able to get away with replacing 1 of them with Sac Sword. No Dragon's Bane. At _MOST_ 1 weapon that you get at most 1 R5 copy of before foddering the rest. The last point is where every banner seems to go wrong. Nearly all of the non-Fav standard 4* weapons fall in that category, with maybe the exception Sac Sword, Sac Frags or Stringless, and even those most people wouldn't level more than 2 copies of, if they even bother with the 2nd one to begin with. And a lot of the limited weapons fall in that category as well, some just with poor design, some outdated. In this case, 2 Fav weapons and Sac Frags really isn't that bad, but Mitternacht's Waltz is the only limited weapon and it's not even good, and Dragon's Bane is Dragon's Bane. Vortex Vanquisher also just makes it so that even if the 4* lineup was something like Xiphos, Fav Lance, Makhaira Aquamarine, Wandering Evenstar and Fav Bow, the banner would still be kinda bad.

Honestly, Ororon is a pretty decent Fischl replacement. Noticably less damage and energy with longer cool downs, BUT you get more AOE and that scroll set along with nightsoul usage makes him BETTER to use with Natlan DPS. For me at least.

YaoYao is a pretty comfy pick. I have noticed, though, that she tends to work better with melee characters, since the AOE on her radishes is so small. But with Melee characters, she has really good application and healing.

The thing about the Golden Majesty weapons are that they're meant to be used with Zhongli as a teammate (or any other shielder) rather than meant for Zhongli himself. It does suck his signature is actually not really meant for him. A lot of people misunderstand this because the passive applies to whoever is on-field. You pop up a shield and then you'd potentially use the Golden Majesty weapon on your DPS. Your artifacts should go into scaling crit ratio and potentially whatever other stat they scale off of. They're meant to omit you investing in a proper atk stat while also maintaining comfort of his shield. But don't get me wrong. These weapons are such a roundabout assways set of weapons. With the passives hinging on a shield being up just to get the full +169.6% atk buff (at R1, R5 increases to 196.6% with a 40% shield buff instead of 20%), it is a little flimsy to rely on it completely. Zhongli has a consistent refresh rotation of his shield but it is not impenetrable 100% without the right support and rotations.

Vortex Vanquisher gets a lot of hate. It's still Zhongli's BiS for on-field _unless_ you are using Homa and are under 50% HP (which is harder with a shield). And, yes, Zhongli's damage scales harder on ATK than on HP. It ain't Hoyo's fault everyone has relegated the Chad CEO of G E O to a shieldbot.

If I had to make my own character banner, this is probably exactly what I would choose. I want Zhongli so that I can finally use my Chiori (I find Kachina quite finicky to use) and I don't have any of the 4 stars. Hopefully I'll get a copy of each, although Fish'll be in the shop soon anyway. So at least one person's satisfied, albeit in very specific circumstances.

Good Video Jello, Have you tried Heizou heal battery yet? I think it turns him in almost the best healer in Genshin. With Prototype amber (and a bit ER) you can burst every 12 seconds (without ER you will need to use your skill). This gives teamwide healing, energy regen, VV and a bit of grouping (depending on constellations) And it works regardles of how you build him. I honestly think he is the best anemo support.

I have yet to pull for any limited 5* constellations, but Neuvi is one of my absolute favorite characters. I feel like I have to try for his C1 - mostly because I want more team flexibility (even if it doesn't make TOO much of a difference - I already just run him C0 with ZL, Xilonen and Ororon for fun XD) whenever I do give my one or two attempt/go at the Endgame stuff. Nahida is the other favorite character I considered getting cons for recently, but I had to resist because I had less desire for the 4* on her banner while I am fine with ANY of the 4* on these banners. (I am two away from C6 Fischl and will take any and all Heizou cons; YaoYao cons would be a nice bonus.) The 4* on the weapon banner are also nice/tempting (for the Fav sword and Sac fragments), and while I'd go with Tome, and Vortex would just be... drip, but... eh. I need to keep savings up high-er for 4.3. I am only risking pulls for Neuvi because I currently have 400+ saved, but I hope not to sink too far below that threshold of at least two guaranteed Limited 5*. Just in case.
