I’ve shot bows my whole life and I’ve shot every new bow that’s come on the market the last 3 years. This year I bought the Matthews VXR 28, RevoltX and a Hoyt Carbon Rx-4 Alpha.

I recently got a new bow as well I got the elite Kure. I’ve had a Matthews no cam for a few years. Was going to get a elite last year but after getting into saddle hunting spent little more money than I thought I would lol. Nice looking setup
@thehuntingchallenge4 жыл бұрын
bkbowhunter1 nice. I will say, I like the the length of the 28. It makes any movement to weak side or drop shot a lot easier and less revealing. Although I haven’t tried a ground set up yet, I imagine it will help me there too. Good luck out there.

I have the bear paradox. 2020 model. I put trophy ridge hitman stabilizer and a qad ultrarest drop away. My ibo is 330 fps. My 1st bow. 55 to 70 pounds. 32 inches axle to axle.

I may be looking into a drop away rest. I still have a hard time leaving the biscuit 🤣
@piterex73 жыл бұрын
I hope that your bear paradox has a good grip I still have the bear species the grip on those cheaper bows sucks looks almost like a flat bar difficult to hold every tiny moment affect the results on a target I learn to hold the bow just with my thumb to shoot accurate in the future if bear will change the grip on all new bows perhaps they will be a good bows now I got Hoyt torrex xt ld 70 lbs man that bow stick to your hand like a glue

Hey bud I am looking to get a new bow to but I was thinking about the carbon rx4 or the pse stealth but still in two minds if I should go with the xvr as there's been a lot of good reviews on it so I am looking forward to more videos on your bow ;)

There’s nothing like a Mathews I love my vxr 31.5 so much I turned around 2 days later and bought the vxr 28 for blind and tree stand both are so quite and dead in the hand no vibration at all Hoyt’s are nice but price is way to much considering the Mathews is a lot better for 200-300 dollars cheaper the performance on the vxr is second to none

All the bow Shops in San antonio TX I haven't had good experiences with just fyi. Glad you had a good experience getting your bow mine was a nightmare.
@thehuntingchallenge4 жыл бұрын
The Griffin' s Den sorry to hear of your experiences man. COVID made it difficult when purchasing my new bow but my friend Jeff from the Blackwaters was very accommodating. I couldn’t imagine not being able to shot a number bows before paying the money. What’s the alternative if you can’t buy a new bow from a shop?
@thegriffinsden33834 жыл бұрын
@@thehuntingchallenge I'm inexperienced in bows I'm experienced with firearms. 4 shops wouldn't even measure my draw length unless I said I was going to buy a bow and they didn't offer any advice other than the first step would be choose a bow and then measure my draw length which each of them had a different method..... sounded like bs to me so I tried doing it myself and came up with 31.5 with john Dudley's method of measuring. Went to bass pro and they got 30.5 and was told the diamondback edge 320 would work for what I wanted and was just as good as a Mathews or hoyt. Turns out after hours of research and making an archery friend I have a 32 in drawl length and my 320 edge goes to 31 and is short axle to axle so my string is very acute there is no forgiveness you have to be semi perfect form or I cant see through peep hole I cant get proper string touch on my nose. The 320 edge min to max drawl stickers are halfway off already and strings are wearing fast I keep it waxed and in case and dont raspberry slap. Finally found a range that rented high quality bows I tried the Mathews traverse it's 34 axle to axle and it was night vs day. I've only taken about 180 shots total with 320 edge but I split 4 arrows out of 20 shots at 20 yards with traverse and had to start placing my arrows further apart range arrows cost $10 each lol. The alternative is looking at pawn shops or online I guess not really an alternative for me due to not many long axle bows on market. I'm returning the 320 edge for them selling me to small of a bow and where I rented the traverse they have it priced high $1400 and their not consistent with good info like drawl length not welcoming. I'm college student I had the money to get the Mathews when I got edge I just didn't know my drawl length. was hoping an archery shop would set me up properly but now I'm low on funds so archery will be but on back burner now I'm paying for school again. Frustrating because I fell in love with archery. I'll never hope a shop can teach me anything again I'll just buy and read the book myself next time lesson learned.

The Griffin' s Den sorry you had such a bad experience. A 32” draw length with a 31” axle to axle will make accuracy difficult. Good luck 👍🏼

We were aligning the peep site and kisser button. We were also using a release that does not have a release or trigger function so no dry fire can happen. It's essentially a hook.
