I shot a ventum pro 33 at 83lbs and it pulled smoother than most bows at 75! I loved that thing and recently sold it for a carbon era at 75lbs and love that as well. Hoyt has made 80lb very achievable for someone who shoots regularly with good form! Great content and love the videos!

Is it really worth the upgrade from the 7 to the 8. Yes the 8 is a little faster but the RX7 got the better overall score. I know it’s comfort over speed but which one you taking if you had those two as your choice?
@meadmaker45256 ай бұрын
Cool review! Let me pose a question for you: At around 78#, the RX8 was pushing those lighter arrows at over 300 FPS, which is Monster Safari territory. And those 2 bows are about the same amount of money. We all know accessory prices can vary wildly, depending on what you get, so we'll ignore that part of it. For the same amount of money and roughly the same kind of speed performance, which bow would YOU rather have? I haven't shot either one, personally, but I've seen your reviews on both, and I'm curious what you think. I still have my Hoyt Alphamax 35, which, at the time I bought it (2009), was smoother than anything else on the rack.

I ended up going with the Alpha X30...and I freakin love it! I wasn't sure the half pound weight difference was worth the extra $$ for the RX8. Also, where I normally shoot, there's usually blustery canyon winds and this thing hardly moves. I think all the extra cut outs on the riser lower the profile to the wind...just my guess. Plus, 80 lbs on this thing feels like 70 lbs on my old bow but the speeds are so much better and I can shoot it all day.

Happy New Years Brandon. I just recently got my fully loaded RX-8 in Elevated II camo. I also got the Garmin Xero A1I Pro and all of the other accessories all from Hoyt. I got it in 70lbs draw weight. I thought about getting the 80lbs but at the end of the day I thought that don't worry about the heavy poundage bow and just worry about being consistent with the bow and shot placement in my opinion is the ultimate key factor. I really do like the review that you did on this bow I would have to agree with you in all aspects of the bow. After this review from watching your vlog I just might go and buy another RX-8 in 80lbs for a moose and elk bow setup with a heavy hitting arrow. I honestly was not that impressed when hoyt announced the 2024 bows, but after trying them out the 1/4 inch draw length adjustments, let off and backwall settings are just amazing. You can just dial in the feel of the bows just perfect. But i wish they would get rid of the stupid shim system and replace it with something like the bowtech has. I agree that they look really cool, a buddy of mine is really into all hoyt accessories and dressing the bow up, his rx7 ultra looks more like something the navy seals would use 😅. Keep up the amazing reviews.

@WolfinWolvesClothing71311 ай бұрын
Why? How often does a bow need shimmed? Once? So extra crap to keep track of, extra weight on the limbs, just to be able to turn a screw once the whole time you own it. I don't understand why guys looking at an 1800 dollar bow, won't spend 375 on a decent press.
@spencerrose82383 ай бұрын
I keep hearing this bow is an 80lbs bow that feels like a 70lbs. What's interesting is at your draw length the z1s got the same speeds at 70 as this bow at 80 with both 500 and 440 arrows. I know feel and accuracy is more important than speed but this completely changes what I think of all the guys talking about how they are shooting this bow at 80 and it will go through anything. My z1s is not an easy bow to shoot but it almost seems hoyt is going backwards on these cams.

Every Lift I have tested at the shop and over a chrono when apples to apples at 29/70 has been faster than every Alpha X. I know the Alpha X is going to depend on where you are at on the mod, and if you’re at the very top, you gain about 5 extra fps. Both are excellent, but the 33” bows the Lift was both faster, quieter, and lighter. Excellent bow offerings. The 29.5 Lift and the Alpha X30 I tested were both 29/70 with a 440gr arrow and the Lift clocked 291 to the Xs 283.

What is the cost benefit? I can get an Aluminum riser bow that weighs dang near the same, shoots as accurately and at a cost of 50 to 70% of carbon. All for the potential benefit of keeping your hand warmer when it’s really cold. Hard to call any carbon bow GOAT in my opininion.

@@BackyardBows Never had an aluminum bow that destructed on me. Not sure many people have. Would love to see one of yours that has and how that occurs. Currently shoot the new Bowtechs and Mathews aluminum risers. All great shooting bows. I’m not into defining GOATs it seems meaningless. Here are the differences I see. All of these new flagships cost significantly less than Carbon counterparts. All as durable as carbon in any hunting and shooting situation. All as warm as carbon when I’ve been hunting and more importantly all made here in the USA for much less money getting the same thing done. Where’s the value?
@WolfinWolvesClothing71311 ай бұрын
@jeffspencer7489 not sure where you saw him say anything about one destructing? I've had 4 carbon hoyts and not had one bit of problem with them, and you obviously don't hunt anywhere actually cold, because aluminum is not even close to comparable when it's 10-20 degrees and 10 mph wind 15 ft in the air. The difference in price is honestly around 450. New mathews, if you want to use their proprietary crap, you'll offset that cost drinking their kool-aid, and adding their stabs, sight, rest etc... so not really much difference. They're all good bows anymore, it's obviously a personal preference as to value, and weather it's worth it, and how bad you want one.
