This gave me chills. Possibly one of the best covers of this song I have ever heard. And for an Irish singer to perform it in New York City captures so perfectly what the song is about in the first place: an immigrant's Christmas story. Very well done, by all the musicians involved. RIP Shane, you're very missed.

I love the Pogues, I love the history behind the origins of the song, I love Hozier, I love the song, and it has nostalgia value. My mom had a record of offensive Christmas songs she would always play in the morning and we were all too young to know what they meant, and this was always my favorite. Seeing this was probably the best Christmas gift I got this year.

I cried through this whole song. I think to really appreciate this song you'd have to live a life of drugs and alcohol. When i listened to the original lyrics , it blew me away. I felt a song about my life. You spend your life chasing dreams until you turn them to shit over and over again then you realize your life's pretty much over. Heartfelt song.
