Damn, it really feels like the first light. I mean, a big part of why i love Hozier music is how much sentiment he puts into the instruments, his voice, the melody and even the background vocals and vocalist. But this made me feel so hopeful, and i never needed it so much like right now.

Loved Hozier for many years now, but this is the song that prompted me to immediately buy tickets to his show. It’s the most I’ve ever paid for a show, but I wanted the best so I could experience this in real life and MY GOD was it beyond worth every hour of work to earn that money. only after trying to sing along to this in my car did i realize how insane the vocal performance in this is. there are so many long notes belted in a way where although it doesnt sound like a high note per say, its super high for something coming from the chest like that. im not a singer so idk how to explain it on a technical level but this shit is HARD to sing

Wonderful album, as always - But also is no one gonna talk about the "in our face" symbolism of him being buried with a flower in his mouth? Throughout Andrew's albums he's made refrancees to not just paganism but also ancient Roman pantheon stories. Specifically the gods.... idk call me crazy but I've definitely noticed. And yes, before anyone comes at me, I'm fully aware he's from Ireland, which was never apart of the Roman empire, but it was influenced by it so idk.
