Seriously, that made me teary. Her life's work, gone just like that. It goes to show how fleeting it all can be, and how you cannot get too tied to things, no matter how personal they are. Sometimes you have to let them go, and start all over again. (Reminds me of a girl I met during college - her family lost their home in a fire, everything gone, all photos, all mementos, everything. And she had a remarkable attitude about it all, because at some point they just had to say, "It's gone, we can't get it back, no one was hurt, we still have each other, so we move forward with memories.")
@studiocelestedesign
@studiocelestedesign 4 жыл бұрын
Good god that loss would be such a blow. Even if you shake it off and move forward (because well, you're forced to) that's just entirely awful. I honestly can't get over her technique & skill; she's startlingly gifted. Bless you Raine, and I hope new paintings have brought you many new joys! x

@@studiocelestedesign I looked into her work and it speaks to my soul. I am so glad we get this glimpse into her absolute artistry and what created the Forest God we know as Hozier. Shes incredible, and you can see how her parenting has impacted him, amd by proxy, us. I hope by now shes been able to recover a bit from the loss, amd make new work.

As an oil painter I really admire his mum, not only does she have beautiful technique (the lighting, small details, realism, etc.) but she has a really admirable ability to portray things literally. She isn’t covering things in symbolism, instead she’s portraying them exactly and allowing that to be its own symbolism and meaning. She is a direct and beautiful artist. The fact she lost her works to fire is a tragedy indeed but I’m glad we still have more to see from her

The tremendous amount of love Raine has for Andrew is apparent in this video :) She's so creative, evocative & inspirational - it's easy to see where his talents come from. Probably one of my favourite shares from this channel. ♡ Thank you. X

Love, love, love this video! I absolutely adore hearing stories and knowing more details about the creative process - as an artist myself I crave this kind of content on a daily, really, so THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for filming and uploading it! Also tell your mum that she's adorable. I LOVE YOU RAINEEEE! I wish I could have a chance to talk about art with you, both of you actually 🖤

Raine is exceptionally skilled! It was a delight to hear her reasonings and perspectives on the art itself and the album

The meaning behind the album art is so beautiful. The way that they tie in all of these themes with not only the art but the music is absolutely stunning. I am honoured to be able to live in this era when Hozier is living.

Hozier has the best album covers ever. This one is simply stunning ! Both because of the magnificience of the art and the back story behind it.

Hozier often seems so grim, it's sweet to see him funny, and laughing. I feel so awful for his mother, and the other artists that lost their work :O

One of my favorite things is listening to people, especially people with their own ideologies and philosophies. I love that his mom is so involved too. It’s refreshing

I love everything about this ! The connection with his mom, his mom being the mastermind behind the artwork, the behind the scenes for all the imagery associated with the album- it all coalesces to give the album additional layers of depth! What a masterpiece!!

In another timeline, they most likely used that shot of him with the unicorn floatie for this apocalyptic album's cover art.

I can say with 100% honesty that the Wasteland, Baby! cover art, as well as those for the EPs and singles from the album, are my absolute favorite pieces of cover art above every other album cover I’ve ever seen. Especially the cover for the album itself and the cover for Movement. Just two of the most wonderful pieces of art (one a painting, the other I believe is a photo) I’ve seen. Truly beautiful.

This was so beautiful to see the process behind the album cover. Thank you so much to both Andrew and his Mum for sharing the whole process with us and the connection that you both have as family and as artists working together, was wonderful to witness. Sheer talent definitely runs in the family! And the album cover is even more special now after finding out that Mrs. Bryne painted it. Ever since the album cover was released I genuinely thought it was a photograph, that's how amazing Mrs. Byrne is as an artist. And so sorry to hear that 30 years of her work was lost. As a mere amateur artist, I can't even begin to imagine how much of a loss that must have been. Can't wait to hear the full album in its entirety when it comes out. It will be the first album in a long, long time that I will be buying a physical copy of.
