Definitely! It makes me realize how little talent a lot of popular artists have. I don't say that to trash them. We can't all be Hozier. They can hit the notes (some use autotune) and the songs are catchy but it's all background music. You put it on to avoid silence. You put Hozier's music on to listen to it. Other things are distractions.

You know, in all my KZbin searching for Hozier stuff (and there has been a LOT of searching..haven't quite sated my obsession just yet) I've run across the listing for this video many times, but never really watched it all the way through because I wasn't that huge a fan of the original, but Jesus Christ on a crutch, is this phenomenal!! The inflection in his voice, especially in the higher, softer notes just give me the chills. And I wholeheartedly agree with sweetcurves79 that he could sing the Cheesecake Factory menu and I would also turn into a puddle of goo. :-)

I have avoided this cover for months because the original is in my 'irritation zone' but when I finally got to it, I realised I should have had more faith in Hozier being able to turn this song into something fantastic!
