Thank you very much for making this tutorial! The HP printer literally comes without any instructions, it just says to download the mobile app, but then it can't connect to it because you need to be connected to the printer's wireless, which of course they don't say in the instructions.

I tried for about a hour to connect this printer stayed on the phone with a representative from HP for about another hour and he left me on hold saying he was getting help but it took so long I hung up. I think that was his goal. However, I listen to this video for 3 minutes literally got the hang of it and was able to connect it.

@@MartinJLim I ended up returning mine due to the total pain in the neck that it was. I spent another $100 and bought an Epson ecotank which is easy to set up and the ink is vastly cheaper and it works great. I will never buy another HP product.

Omg. If it wasn’t for this video I was like other about to smash it in the wall! like how the hell are you supposed to know all that from the 1 paragraph startup book they give you. I mean I even had to KZbin how to get the ink in too! this guys video was the best. He should deffo get some income from them cos their info is bull! If you but this printer literally dont even look at their instructions KZbin IT and recommend ppl to this guy. Literally. So happy I found this arghhh how frustrating it was befor hand lol

However, I'm trying to start all over again and can.t get it to print the first alinement page and form doing before the second page has no password on it. And says not connected to a network. How did you get it to print the printer alignment sheet? I’m pretty sure mine isn’t connected to the internet. I’m at the stage where the power botton is glowing and the wifi one is blinking and I already put the inks in but I can’t get it to print the alignment sheet.

@@frchristie yes I did, I just un plugged the printer and re did the process. To print the alignment sheet I clicked the info button and it printed the alignment sheet. How this helps you.

Thank you for your clear instructions. Barely any instructions with my printer. Was ready to return. HP said my ipad wasn’t close enough to printer and printer wasn’t close enough to router. Every other device is further away and all hook to router just fine. HP fail. Now after days I think I can print like “Normal”.

You have to go to the bottom of your computer and see that it was saved. click on it and then you print from it. I gave one away because it drove me crazy and got another one and for some reason I figured it out. Hope this helped.

I have been trying to get this printer set up with a USB cord. Finally did but then ran into other problesm. No instructions came with it. Your tutorial helped quite a bit but my printer now won't shut off. The power button just continues to blink no matter how many times I touch it. It won't shut off even if I hold the power button down. I am not a "techi", I'm almost 70 yrs old and am finding this printer to be abysmal in its behavior. I have no idea what the "i" button means. Nor the big red X. I'm sure the X means something is not right or to cancel something, but .......?...... Too bad HP decided to not send a physical manual. I will be returning this printer to the store and will gladly pay twice as much for another one that is not an HP. But I do think YOU did a fantastic job with this tutorial you created. Too bad you weren't able to be looking over my shoulder to help me with this piece of Cra........

You can unplug the power of printer for 10 monutes and then plug in again. It may correct the problem.

Thanks to this guy, but even after doing everything day 2 of buying it, it still can't connect to the Wifi.It printed on the first day now what's the issue ,the settings are still the same.I would not recommend it if you urgently need some paperwork just buy a cheap one I'm sure will be better than this ,it's awful.

Looks good but hp are clever using their new app it's easy but then you can only use ink refills from them,not from a super market that's why the printers are cheap one registered they will only except cartridges from HP direct because of the bar codes ,

My problem is that i do all the steps and am connected to the Direct but the HP Smart App is not loading unless I connect to some form of internet. I just don't understand. My wifi of the printer and my mobile network can't be on in the same time. So i just don't know what to do 😔 because if i try to scan or something with the app it states that the action is not supported. I have the urge to trash it 😭 Any advice? Please..

You do wifi setup not wifi direct of you have home wifi network. If you do not have wifi then wifi direct is best. For any issue just uninstall app and printer and then install app and printer again so that it works properly.
