I have the same issue with my HP Envy x360. It was working fine until yesterday. I called HP Support and even though they tried everything they would not fix it even though it still is under warranty for two months. The screen is black when it powers up. Sometimes the screen will turn on but after a few seconds the keyboard, trackpad and touchscreen will freeze. If you keep putting the computer in sleep mode and turning it back on it will function for 30 seconds then everything will freeze again. Never buying HP products again.

Asus abd Lenovo are the same if not worse. And sometimes it is a driver/update problem with windows and not directly a fault of the hardware producer.

@@kidaria1333 I actually had to go on to the HP website and re-install the operating system and every HP file one by one to get it up and running again. I meant to update this earlier. I had to update the BIOS as well.It works great now after 13 hours of repairing files.

This worked, where others did not work. Hold the button for 30 sec. and see the light on the side turn off, wait, then turn back on with power cord plugged in. Yes!!! it worked. Thx

I just bought the HP Envy X360,2 in 1 core i7, 16GB ram, 512 gb SSD, and it’s not opening. I ordered it online from HP website brand new and it’s not opening. When I try to charge it, the orange light comes on then goes off. I pressed the power button so many times and hold the power button long enough but it’s still not responding. What could be the cause?

this method works to get the laptop back on, but it doesn't stop the laptop from doing it again. how do you completely fix this issue? it happens sooo frequently!

@@smithyanthaya i set the laptop screen saver and sleep time to never so the laptop stays on forever. This seemed to help. Not sure about it though. All i know is It used to happen 8 out of 10 times. Now it happens 1 out of maybe 50 times. For me it has to do with plugging the charger in or not... not sure why or how

Both the charging light and the power light come on and become solid white, but the computer does not come on. I’ve tried all combinations of pressing and holding power button, placing and removing the power cord and opening and closing the lid. What else can I try? This HP Envy x360 has no user removable battery. Everything is internal. Please help.

Did you try it a few times. I needed three aatempts. It is often also a driver/update problem of the graphic card. Only default factory configuration helped me.

Just did that with mine. I have the 2020 HP Envy, 1 month old. It’s all of these buggy little problems. Windows 10 and its legacy is making it worse haha. Thus why I love my Mac.
