Hp-Max Air Pistol 51 Cal

So this is the 5 inch barrel shorty Air Pistol from AEA
It is built on the HP Max body with the itty bitty air tube and barrel.
Blue Grass Big Bore Air Rifles sent me this tiny beast to test.
51 Cal is the 510 Diameter Bullet
Magazine fed , 5 shots but I only recommend 3 shots then refill to keep the power. It's fun and a great stocking stuffer .

Awesome review and demo of this shorty pistol. I had my eyes on it for a while now thinking it's the perfect compact shorty pistol for me but the ergonomics when operating it makes it two handed use because it's manual side lever. I would rather have a 10ish inch barrel without the stock than this setup. Performance isn't amazing either 550fps is slow for sure. Fpe compared to centerfire pistols is comparable to 32 acp at best 4500 fill. I would have to tether it to another .5l or 90 ci bottle if I'm on the move.

hello mr hollowpoint , i would not shoot at that bulletcatcher , with those airguns , you get leaddust and fragments back . a large iron pipe tru the wall and ending in a pile sand , maybe a idea

I wish the AEA’s were more reliable..They make some really cool pcp’s and would be a great value.The reg challengers and bullpups are good though👍🏼

I got Chal Standard LS and Big 9 .357 and they have all been reliable. I cant say about anything else cause that's the only ones I buy. They need to make accessories and update the Challenger cheap versions and externally regulate them and add hammer spring adjusters. The only problem i did have was the 100$ regs for the cheapos. They were inconsistent.

@@dougiefresh3767 Good info..I’m going back and forth right now between a .50 cal challenger and the umarex hammer carbine.I really like the idea of a 6 round mag on the AEA

@@faraci5617 My .50 bullpup challenger has retained constant air pressure for months without being shot. My 357 terminator on the other hand, the secondary tank I think needs a o-ring replacement as every 2-3 months or so I notice the bar has slowly decreased about halfway.

@@47coffee Yeah i feel pretty good about the challenger bullpup series,everyone seems to have good luck with the whole lineup.Would be nice if they offered a shorter version of that .50 cal imo

@@faraci5617 I think the Challenger BP .50 would work, chopped down to a 20” package. Obviously not for many shots and obviously not at the same energy levels. But just imagine a 20” BP .50 in the HP Max energy range, say 200+ ft lbs. Which seems to be doing work in the Dragon Claw series for deer hunting, from what I’ve seen.

I’m from Kentucky and I won’t even deal with bluegrass air guns cause they tell you one thing and when you go to get it they jack the price and say they never talked to you

No offense to AEA but I have no idea why anyone other than a past felon would buy one of these. That’s a small market. How about some R&D to something as simple as a hammer pre load adjuster. I mean literally the entire rest of the airgun world has figured this out. This remains the one simple factor that keeps AEA completely off my list as it says worlds about their engineering.
