Rajprit Deb in gaming, if graphics card is same, we do not see any significant improvement over generations. Intel is very good for gaming for a very long time. I’d doubt even 7th gen intel would be same if paired with same GPU. AMD will show it’s advantage in battery life, and productivity task which are now moving towards multithreaded.

I really liked the Omen 15, I bought the exact configuration. Unfortunately after just a week of ownership one of the fans had developed some nasty high pitch coil whine I'd feel bad for the poor souls who would have to hear it on a webcam or next to me in class it was that bad. (It appears that this might just have been my unit's problem but it's also early in the lifespan of the product) I returned it to Best Buy and instead exchanged it for the G14 and honestly for the overall package I have been absolutely loving the G14. The build on the G14 just feels better, the keyboard feels better, and yeah the GPU is a little weaker than a normal 2060 and or 1660 ti it gets the job done for me. It feels a lot more premium and when I bought it the top-spec (minus the Animatrix display or whatever, was 1349 U.S. so about the same as the Omen 15). Also, the G14 is incredibly portable compared to the Omen, and not having the insane screen flex and hinge wobble the Omen has makes me feel more secure putting it in my bag as a student that has to lug around heavy textbooks, or well... had to lol. I digress Idk maybe it was just me but HP could benefit from giving the Omen line a bit more TLC if they want it to be more... premium? If anyone has more thoughts I would love to hear them. Cheers.

Definitely a nice and capable machine that doesnt scream "i'm a gamerrr". It's subtle and powerful. There seems to be insignificant advantage/disadvantage among the 1660 ti market. I'll wait for your thermals testing video and see the omen 15 crush the competition. Great video as always.

@@leonsotojoannacamila688 in my experience, Windows sometimes “updates” your graphics driver and uninstalls the nvidia one. Aka you have to download nvidia drivers again and sometimes the base/ Windows driver causes issues. I don’t know why this happens but it has happened to me in the past, hope I helped take care.

Hey man, I was considering the G3, G5 or the legion Y450 but I don’t know which one to pick, I’m looking something that I could game on for the next couple of years which means that build quality is important . they are available with the same specs with a small price difference in my region, which one do you recommend? Please test which display output is connected to which GPU. I have tested that HDMI is connected to Nvidia GPU. There are two DP1.4 outputs, one via mini DisplayPort and other via USB type-C. And the mini DisplayPort also supports HDMI in dual mode.

Hi Jarrod, Love your videos, not a single second wasted and to the point reviews. I just have a suggestion/request: can you test/benchmark VR games as well. Games like half life Alyx or Asgard's wrath or walking dead etc. One on say a valve index one on a wmr headset and finally one on Oculus quest link. Port selection is important there cause these devices won't run unless the display or HDMI is directly connected to dedicated GPU (not for oculus link). Along with it the VR games are really demanding more so than normal 2D games. It would be a perfect way to test the limits of any laptop.

Hi Jarrod, were turning to you for this one!! Everyones into Virtual Realty and like so many others who love VR, we scoward the internet looking for someone to compare the Hp omen 1660ti or any 1660ti affordable laptop using headsets like the Vibe, Rift or Quest 2 but unfortunately, there seems to be no luck! No one seem to, dosen't know how, or want to test games in VR on a 1660ti laptop. (And yes, I said 1660ti) because a 1660ti is the reason why the majority of us are buying this (affordable) high end laptop in the first place so we can emerse ourselves in VR to escape from COVID without hurting our wallets! If you can Jarrod, Please do a comparison in VR using (only) the 1660ti laptop sense there is no videos youtube that show it! We've already got our $300 Oculus quest 2 ready to emerse ourselves in VR but are still debating weather to buy a HP Oman 15 1660ti or the Asus Tuf a15 1660ti.

Perfect review but one thing that would be really good if you could add since it would impact me and probably other people quite a bit when choosing a decent gaming laptop would be the color accuracy of the screen. Yeah they are usually not the best but if the screen was sub 75% RGB coverage and rubbish contrast ratio i wouldnt buy it since its the think you're looking at the most i think its one of the most important things to consider when buying something like this

Jarrod, please add Trackmania 2020 game to your testing! it's a very popular E-sports title and because it's free, it has over a million registered users since less than 2 months of it's release. If you do decide to add it though, I suggest that you test the game in the ice track of the trainign mode, as other tracks will change over time, not allowing a proper comparison. But as a well optimized game it should also show good results in almost any hardware, it has a 300 fps cap though.
