Which has been your favourite Ryzen gaming laptop so far?

@Omar Olwy until I reviewed this one I would have said the G14, I liked how portable it is and the speakers are better. Battery life about the same. The panel on the Omen is better and for me I need more storage and an SD card reader. Having two m.2 slots helps for sure.

You need to make tough choices with high end GPUs in laptops though. Either they can only run up to 80-90W and are not really that much faster than a 2060 or you need a bigger laptop and usually louder fans. Also they get stupidly expensive for like 20% more GPU you pay 50% more. These laptops also have no battery life and need to be plugged into the wall 24/7. At that point i would just buy a PC.

@@merlin8208 not true, the new max q 2070 super and 2080 super max q are amazing. The 2070smq is a little faster than the normal 115 watt 2070, and 2080 smq is on the level of the desktop 2070 accordding to HardwareUnboxed testing. so they have very respectable performance given how little power they consume. The reasons are lower power, more efficient GDDR6 VRAM Nvidia is using for them and a little higher cuda core count. And about Battery life also not true, have you not heard of Nvidia optimus? GS66 for example has around 6 hours of battery life in it's max i9\2080 super max q configuration.

I get 120+ FPS on every game I've tested on high to ultra settings including Fortnite, Overwatch, Persona 4 Golden, Catherine Classic, and Doom. The keyboard feels great to type on, trackpad gets better the more I use it. Spend a little more than a TUF A15, and a little bit less than a G14 and get this laptop. I was waiting for this review thank you, your reviews are very detailed and includes all the things I look for in a laptop. I think omen 19 looks a bit better than the omen 20 btw. When gaming with a significant other in the same room, fan speeds are very annoying for them so I look for the best performance/decibel laptop available. Next time I'd be glad if you included comfort mode decibels and an estimated % of performance. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, glad you liked my video😀. I usually include idle fan in my reviews, I think I just forgot on this one. It certainly seems as quiet as any others out there. Appreciate you watching!

Just bought this exact laptop yesterday from Best Buy. Pretty happy with it so far. My temps seem to go a lot higher than yours though while using the default mode so I just keep it to performance/auto

This is great information, thank you for the review! Would you be able to help with a couple of questions? - How does it do with running Linux? - Would it be practical to DIY upgrade the RAM to 32 GB?

That sharp corners point was really good. No one goes into that much detail while reviewing even though they could. Many laptops ends are not comfortable to put your palms on them specially when you go in to workspaces where you can’t adjust your table height or chair height and have to keep your arms raised a bit

Thanks for the review. I didn't know that hp was able to make such great laptop. It could have been better if you gave us precise info about the GPU because a 115 watt gpu is not at all the same thing as an 80 watt.

It's a 1660ti - so it's an 80W part

Thank you. I am currently looking to replace my 2-3 year old Dell Inspiron 5577 which is under powered and has also developed a fault which requires a new motherboard to fix. I will hold out for the RTX2060 version of the Omen 15 with a Ryzen CPU. Seems it would be great for my use case which is photography and some video editing.

I'm thinking the same as you. Did you make a decision yet?
@rejanglebong4 жыл бұрын
@@michaelpollock5851 i did, I stick with this, since omen has "standard" looks for years of usage. And i dont like numpad on laptop.

I've been long time waiting for your HP Omen review 🥰. Most Complete R7 4800H Laptop available right now, with nice Display, Design, Battery, Cooling & Port Selection👌.Hope, it has good response time. That noise cancelling microphone & Good Web Cam is cherry on top for WFH. But, I couldn't find this with RTX 2060 ! Fingerprint sensor is missing, along numpad, but that button is good. Did you sold your Asus ROG G15 ? I would like to see it's thermals after disabling Boost Clock done by Bob on G14. Eluktronics Matrix RP 15 vs HP Omen 15 vs Asus G14 ( vs Asus ROG G15, if gains are like G14 & it would fair for 15" ), is comparison what everyone is waiting for.
