Thanks for this video. Helped me replacing the battery, but I broke the ZIF connector when separating this cable which is glued to the bottom. Now I've got this tiny plastic thing loose in my hands and I don't get it to attach again. How can I fix it? Is there a spare part for replacing it? Is there any impact if the cable isn't attached, except that headphones and the left usb port are not usable? Best regards

Sorry I don't know. I suggest you contact HP directly as the cap lock flashing should point to a specific issue.

Quick question you might be able to help me out with since I've had no luck finding anything out. I have the version with the 32gig EMC drive. SO i have no HD bay and connection port. Is there a way to replace the EMC or is it soldered on the board? I wasn't able to see anything . On a side note. My battery has a plastic shell connected to it where the HDD would be.

My Pavilion 11 K-145 is without fan, using M3(?) processor and I regret to buy it because RAM is soldered and cannot be upgraded, and the keyboard is also soldered to the palmrest and very difficult to find replacement and I am helpless. The up and down keys are too small and fragile but they are often used, and now they are failed. I dont know the thinking of designers of this laptop. What can I do??

After a os reinstallation that wifi antenna disappeared. And even after I installed all the network driver from hp website, still no luck. I see a missing network driver in device manager, but even windows update can not fix it.

If you can't see any memory slots it sounds like the model you have has onboard memory which can't be upgraded.

It really depends on what you want to use it for. As a main machine then forget it. As a secondary machine with excellent portability but low specs then in can have its place.

The only this I do not like is it has just 1 memory slot. So your only single memory options are 1, 2, 4, or 8gb. So no 6gb memory options. Why I like 6 to 8gb's is you are not limited to just 4gb, which is the least for a 64bit OS. 1 8gb stick/module runs $37.99 for the least expensive, to $97.99 for the most expensive module. @ $37.99, Patriot Module's are great. I have a few of their module's already. Just remember, if you plan on getting one of these, since it has to be partcially disassembled, if you get a SSD along with the memory upgrade, you'll only need to take it apart once. The other thing about these Notebook's/Laptop's is, they run more efficient with the SSD's. I already had the earlier model that HP carried back in 2009-2011. The 2 reason's I sold it was 1: slow with a regular HDD. 2: They would easily run hot, so you'd want something flat to rest it on if you want to put it on your lap. I use one of those [sorta hard to find] Plastic Serving Tray's that measure about: 10''x 15'', [overall is 13''x 17'' because they have the lip around them.] so a Laptop like this will fit along with a wireless mouse if you use them. I use a trackball style Mouse because it requires no movement. I use my 14'' screen size Laptop on it now.

I wish this laptop had access panels like the laptops I have owned previously. It would make this process so much less excruciating. I did follow the instructions from the PDF manual and "remove the bottom cover" wasn't exactly very helpful. Just listening to the tabs snapping one by one was a suspenseful process. At times it felt like I was going to break something, but I managed to get the cover off. I also managed to swap out the 500GB mechanical drive for a 240GB solid state drive and closed it back up. Wish I knew of the tab release technique technique you used. Though I'm still kind of dreading upgrading the ram in the future. Thanks for the video!

Nova Darkshine I totally agree with you. More and more manufacturers are producing laptops that make it hard to perform what should be simple operations. Quick Question. I'm repairing this same exact computer and i need to remove the SSD ECC hard drive. Is it possible to downgrade the machine from a SSD to a standard RPM HD? Is the SSD using a sata cable?

Hi. Question: My Pavilion 11 x360 does not startup any more. After pressing the power switch, cooler starts (no other reaction), few seconds later it stops (power LED is on). Question! I have the exact same laptop. I was able to remove all of the screws except 2 on the right side (one on the bottom and one on the top). The screws are loose so I tried shaking the laptop like you did but they still won't come out. Any tips??

Are you certain the screws are completely loosened? You could try to get a flat head screw driver under the head to flip it out or even try some needle nose pliers.

From memory yes it is soldered but even if it wasn't I wouldn't recommend changing a CPU in a laptop due to possible compatibility issues and thermal problems.

+April Green yes you can attach the hard drive to another machine with an appropriate adapter. If you have important data ont he drive though I'd highly recommend you take it to a profession as anything you do may make any data harder (or even impossible) to recover.

It is most likely the battery but depends on the cause of the issue as it could also be the power adapter or the power socket.

i got same, had a problem with the touchpad. I worked on it but can't boot anymore, just caps Lock led blinking 3x by 4 then whole process restart.

David Opoku, I just try to fix and realise that 3 times blinking means memory problem. Try test it.

Rodrigo Augusto de Souza the blinking sequence is 3 led blinks then delays for about 1 or 2 seconds and then 3 led blinks. this process goes on or seven times. consequently, there is a long delay after the seven 3 blinks then this 7x 3 led blinks starts all over again. thanks very much.
