@@uFixTek Disappointed but not surprised. I just hate the way how literally all laptop manufacturers solder their RAM on their notebooks and how Apple even solders the SSD! Like is there any specific reason for this other than to reduce costs and to reduce thickness? Like it just makes no sense. Another reason why I'm starting to completely abandon notebooks and switching to computers. Just wait until they start selling only soldered RAM. Lol.

ya its very sad how they are shifting the marketing, as a laptop repair shop we see how people suffer, because they dont know what they have purchased.the brands no matter HP, asus, lenovo, they are all the same they dont want people to be able to upgrade the laptops , they want them to purchase new laptops, the war is now who can sell more and resell , its like they coping the same marketing as iphones, solder everything over so if the client need more ram or more cpu power, go get the new model!! i can goon on this topic and explain how they are bending consumers over, and milking the cows as much as they can. i would always say if you can get pc go for it.

@@uFixTek Facts spoken. I remember the old era in the 2000s where you were even able to upgrade the CPU and the GPU on your notebook. Good times. When Apple introduced the MacBook Pro in 2016, I remember how there was a huge heatwave and Apple consumers "ranting" due to the fact that Apple had actually introduced a laptop with a soldered SSD, resulting into losing tons of customers and many people switching to Windows. Little did they know that a few months later, laptop manufacturers (such as Dell, Lenovo, HP, Acer, Asus etc...) would start copying Apple with this and started soldering down the RAM and in some cases, even the SSD. I remember the Dell XPS 7390 that Dell introduced to the public in mid 2019, and that had a soldered SSD and many people got extremely angry about this that Dell discontinued that particular model and made a new one with the SSD upgradable this time. But to be honest, I've seen that Lenovo is the brand that's been copying Apple the most with this whole "soldering RAM trend". It's stupid and just makes no sense and just drives the customers insane into pressuring them to buy a new laptop. It's a very stupid business tactic and at this point it's just a laptop war about who can sell the most notebooks. Just imagine the RAM fails (and this actually happened to me before) and it was on a soldered RAM laptop. Ended up having the entire motherboard replaced. Glad it didn't cost me that much. And just because I dropped it on the floor once... like at least secure the RAM with a metal bracket or something like that. Soldering RAM should be illegal, same as the hard drive.
