This was very helpful for me. I did not know there was a screw under that plastic bumper thingy. I took out the hard drive, cloned it on my desktop to an SSD. The hardrive that HP provided was incredibly slow.

What kind of ssd did you get? I can see there’s an m.2 ssd slot on the left corner next to hdd, but I don’t know if this laptop even supports a m.2 ssd.

Oh come on, what's the casing separation tool your using there and what was that last little separation issue you had? Those may just be key to the whole project.

That's what I said when watching this. I just did a repair using this video and I assure you that this video is legit. He uses a guitar pick which I tried and was enough to get a few tabs to release but after that, you might want to use a sturdier tool that will not mar the casing. The pause he took was probably a brief cuss break because you need a little finesse and finagling to open it while being careful not to crack the casing or break the attaching tabs.

there is an m.2 sata slot. it's back to back with the m.2 wifi card. you can see the screw to secure it. it's on the right real close to the HDD.

I HATE it when they put screws under those rubber pads. It's clearly not for "cosmetic" purposes since you can see all the other screws. Just another passive-aggressive business practice by HP to make sure you can't or won't work on your own machine. Thanks for posting this, though.

Nice camera break at 3:25... you obviously skipped the secret part for separating the bottom panel between the screen lid hinges. It was just "magically" all separated at 3:26. EDIT: Picked up 'technique' from another video. You still might consider adding a description or on-screen notes at 3:25 to describe how it's done.
