Thanks for posting this, it helped when upgrading my wife's Pavilion. It amazes me HP didn't put some sort of door in the back of the case where the memory slots are, unless they'd rather you put this into a landfill and buy their latest model. :-( I've done maybe a dozen memory upgrades (the easiest by far being a Mac), and this was the hardest. So thanks.

Thanks for this, I’ll be upgrading the RAM on the same model soon and the process is a bit different to other laptops I’ve upgraded. I wish manufacturers still did the Toshiba Satellite thing, where the RAM, processor and hard drive were under easily accessible flaps on the bottom of the laptop!

It's a very tiny bit around 1.0 plus screwdriver. I messed up the teeth of the screw and had to melt the plastic part around it to make it free Don't apply too much pressure, it's a very delicate screw

Those screws under the Hp CD-ROMs are fucking absolutely ridiculous. They must be super glued down. Luckily my pavilion model has a service door for the ram, so I was able to add the ram, still wasn't easy cus the WiFi antenna was basically in the way, but I was able to do it. Then I bought an SSD to upgrade the hd but I had to give up the installation after I came across those disgusting filthy screws under the CDROM. HP I have lost all respect for you. The guy had to melt a part of his computer to take your screw off. Come on, that is just mental. I salute you for getting them off, and I warn anyone wanting to do the hd upgrade by themselves. Don't. Take it to a computer repair shop and hope you're computer doesn't come back half melted.

If u do yearly maintenance , I highly doubt any screw will be tight ( unless u tighten it urself ) . bander ke hat mein nariyal . This laptop was my first lappie that's y I love it and still use it even when I hv hp omen 15 2020. This thing was a beast in my childhood (2013)

Word of warning, the screw or screws under the pavilion CDROM are mental, I suggest giving the computer to a competent professional before you inevitably strip the screw. Or just don't bother. They are that annoying, most likely super glued down.

I used a plier to twist it to loosen . Then a knife to unscrew it. It wa s tough because my screw drivers couldn't do the job but I got there in the end. Good luck

You can mix and match ram. If your system don't like the two brands together it'll let you know by not posting or sluggish /errors on desktop

Never use 2 different RAMs as it'll be incompatible and useless. The highest RAM will follow the lower RAM. Check the maximum capacity of your system and then divide it by 2. So that's how you can achieve maximum. If you want to use 8GB, then use 2 x 4GBs.

Yes, You can add 8 GB Ram. There are total 2 slots of the Ram in Hp pavilion p001tx. You can upgrade this laptop up to Total 16 GB Ram. As u asked, yes if you add 8 GB Ram the Total Ram is 12 GB. It's Possible. The Ram we used is Transcend 4GB DDR3L 1600 MHz Laptop RAM.

No no , u can't do taht m if u hv 8 gb u hv to add 8 gb to make it 16. U can't put 4 ,2 . If u had 2gb then u can add 2 gb. If h hv 4gb u can add 4 gb. Mixing matching doesn't work in laptops

Either the battery is completely dead or there's something wrong with the connections to it

Close the laptop by holding power button . Once it's closed. Remove battery and hold power button for 15 secs. This will empty the capacitors . Reinput battery and turn on. Most probably it's due to capacitors.
