Anyone facing build quality issues on this one? I bought one in Prime day sales last week for dollar equivalent of $690. It had a Sep '23 manufacture date and came with a completely depleted battery. That aside I'm facing below issues 1. The bottom of the case is ever so slightly curved outward ls and it makes the rubber feet not touch at the ends. This leads to wobble when I rest my palms on the keyboard and type. 2. The fan has a high pitch whine when it is running. It's an odd frequency that's a bit grating. 3. Touchpad is a bit springy and rattles on tap. This gives a slight inaccurate feeling on clicks. I use a Macbook pro from work, so I'm not sure I'm coming off as spoilt, but I i certainly didn't have similar issues in my past laptop purchases including an HP one.

Great review. Does the laptop slow down after extended use? I think another reviewer indicated HP is conservative with managing processor temperature and as a result clock speeds are reduced. Two points that would prevent me from seriously considering this laptop: 1) the lack of a 32GB memory option and 2) USB 4. At this point in time USB 4/TB 4 should be the standard for USB-C. And memory can be a huge bottleneck - 16GB may not be sufficient in a couple of years. 32GBs gives you the piece of mind to avoid memory bottlenecks and know the laptop will be relevant in a couple of years.

The Disadvantages are 3 hours of battery life instead of 6 on this one and 1 kg more weight, and even more with that power brick. Nonetheless, the screen is sharp, flicker and reflection free, and performance is superior, like a Desktop. I don't play games but RTX 3060 will help with GPU intensive tasks like screenshot recording among other things. Really, if you are not a student or a teacher who has to carry his or her device and needs computing on the go then I believe HP Omen are better than these, the much higher performance is great and so are things like reparability, upgradability, and is good in everything else too except weight and battery life. So I believe I won't buy these thin and light ones. But I still have my judgement reserved on much anticipated Windows on ARM.

@@JustJoshTech I think both would be useful...here is why...many of these sales just popup and don't last terribly long so timing is critical. If you wait to release a video that's meant to incorporate seasonal sales you'll likely miss out on many short term incredible one time sales. For example, I recently purchase the Lenovo 11th Gen X1 Carbon for with 32GB ram for ~$1,200. That sale was out of cycle with the normal seasonal sales (early October) but it was a fantastic sale. Occasionally I happen to stumble on these deals by chance and I'm sure there are many that I just don't see. It would be nice if someone was watching for these "pop-up" sales and letting us know with just a quick short (15 seconds). This could be just another value your channel could provide. Also It would be awesome if someone kept a spreadsheet with the best known sales prices so that you could "qualify the sale" and let us know whether the sale is truly a great sale compared to other sales prices throughout the year...sort if like camelcamelcamel but focused on laptops. Just my thoughts.

a game I play lists the requirements as: [Support Shader Model 5.0 (Intel HD4000 Integrated, Geforce 400 Series, Radeon HD2000 Series)] and recommends: [AMD 290x or nVidia 970GTX or Better] for graphics and processor requirement: [Dual core] recommends: [Recent Intel i5/i7 or AMD 6 core or better] should it be able to run it well? my current laptop has gen 10 i7 and Intel Iris Plus graphics and it keeps freezing during loading screens and crashing sometimes in the middle of the game. I don't need a gaming laptop and that one is the only game I play on my laptop I have a ps4 for gaming

I’m late but what do you think about getting this laptop at a similar price but with an Intel i5 13500H processor instead along with a 51 Wh battery and Intel Iris Xe Graphics? Is it worth it?

A little late to the party, but do you have any suggestions for a laptop with the same/similar specs, but a more premium build?

Would it make sense to buy the basic configuration with Ryzen 5 and IPS display? I use the laptop only at home so 300 nits should be enough. And the PWM flickering will be gone right?
@chuboasshippo21819 ай бұрын
no way. OLED and the ryzen 7's GPU performance are much better

Will you review some laptops with Intel 13th series? Like e.g. 1335U?

If we consider two AMD processors 7730 and 7530, that is, 8 cores and 6 cores, which of them will work longer when playing a movie from Netflix, all other things being equal? In theory, when there are more cores, less energy is wasted because the processor is more powerful. But intuition suggests the opposite.

The base configuration of this laptop is a good option for less than 550$? Is basically the only one I found with good battery life and a zen 4 cpu

OLED panel is the only downside of this laptop ( pwm at low frequency is not good for working 8hrs a day)

I love this one, but should i go with the i7-1355U for $1600 AUD, rather than the Ryzen 7 7840U at $2200 AUD (all specs the same)? What would i be missing out on
@thotslayerk70229 ай бұрын
The AMD variant has more performance per watt, meaning that it will be performant and have better battery life and cooler thermals. Also, the integrated GPU (Radeon 780M) is comparable with some old dedicated GPUs such as the 1650. Intel Iris Xe is just in need of a dire upgrade at this moment.

Hello, appreciate the video! I have been eying this laptop for some time, but two things has made me tip toe before actually making the purchase... If anyone can help me answering some of my questions, I'll shower them with gold. First dilema is the screen, every review talks exclusively about the OLED display and dismisses the other options, specifically the IPS display. My problem is, that I expect to use this display pretty much exclusively for VS Code (for many hours every day), no gaming or watching content. I'm worried about the OLED burn-in, and I know that the new screens are better in preventing that, but from my understanding, it is still a factor and an issue from the long term point of view. My question is, won't the bigger resolution IPS display be better for my use case? I don't know if this laptop would still be considered "good buy" even with the IPS display. Like I said, I don't care about the colors or the blacks, when all I'll be looking at is the VS Code. Second question would be in regard to the connectivity. Since this is AMD laptop, it doesn't have Thunderbolt (nor USB4, as someone in the comments said). Is it realistic to have a USB C hub, which would support two external Full HD 60hz monitors plus ethernet connector? Or is it physically impossible, or maybe the USB C speeds are not enough for that? I could get away with connecting one monitor throught the HDMI, but since i have to have a cable internet connection, I'm missing one port. I need to have a power connection, two external monitors, and a ethernet connection. HP is selling one USB C hub, which would work just fine with it's connectivity, but I don't know, if the USB C ports can handle all the "traffic", for the lack of the better word. I apologize for bothering anybody with this, but I have failed at using Google, so I don't have a better alternative then to start asking people. I'll be extremely grateful to anyone who can direct me anywhere close to getting my answers. Cheers and I hope you have a nice day!
