HP Photosmart 7525 Printer from 2013 Review and Print Test

Picked this up at the thrift store for $20.

Have had this printer for 4 years. No glitches what so ever. The apps are no longer available. I print moderately. I use XL. Prints 4 by 6 and 5 by 7 prints from your phone. Scans beautifully. I love that you can print on both sides. Print business cards, brochures, invitations. Good deal for the price.

Can't believe you got this for $20. I just picked one up at Costco they are selling them for $109. Its a great printer. Smooth fast touch screen. Easy setup. Rock solid connection to wireless router. 5 inks. Software driver didn't seem to take forever like HP printer drivers usually do. Could be that my machine is fast with a Solid State drive but I'm hoping that they have finally fixed their crappy slow install drivers. Just make sure you update the firmware on the printer through the touch screen and use the HP update after you install the driver to get all the latest critical patches and updates for potential bugs. ProTip: Choose CUSTOM button when you are prompted to install. Uncheck everything, unless you feel you absolutely need it. It's mostly junk, might be one thing worth keeping. But its got Bing Desktop and other crapware that just muck up your system. Not needed to run the printer.

Hi, I was going to buy one at costco but I was not sure it is worth it. Because all I want is the resolution of the printer to be neat. It says the dpi for black printing only goes up to 600dpi, while the HP 6520 goes up to 1200dpi. Can you tell me if the printing quality of your printer is good? Can you print sth out and show it to me how it looks? Because I was not sure if I could return it once I buy it. Thanks!

Costco has an excellent return policy. The black is pin point fine. Most printers print BW at standard 600dpi for speed. But all that is changeable in settings. If I get a chance I'll post a photo. But I can tell you the print is ultra fine and lovely.

Trying to print things at 1200dpi on an inkjet printer would be abysmally slow on any printer.

Any chance you know how to set up Web Services on this printer? Just picked it up at the dumpster today at Penn State actually. I bought some $13 ink set for it and it's perfect. I just can't get it to set up to use the apps.

This printer is at Costco for $70 on April 14. And I bought packs and packs of that Polaroid glossy paper at Dollarama.

The paper works OK in this printer. No issues with the 8 1/2 X 11 paper. The 4X6 Photo Paper is a little thin however, so make sure that you have the photo paper tray at least 1/2 full or the print rollers will have a hard time gripping it.

Yes, provided the label paper says ink jet capable.

All you need is a Wireless Router or you can plug the printer directly into your computer VIA a USB cable.

Make sure that the rollers are free of dust and debris. Sometimes a piece of dust or a little piece of paper can get stuck on the rollers and cause this problem.

not a big fan of hp printers i manily like the lexmark inkjet printers they dont eat alot of ink and they are 100 percent relyable we still have ours that was giving me to me since 2009 it crapped out on my gmom now i have it and it works amazing and the ink is so cheap i love i have the lexmark pro 901

They should give it away. Worst printer ever ! When it works it is great but it is finicky...I have spent more than 20 hours working on cleaning it, putting in new cartridges. changing paper..changing cartridges, It never officially hooks up to the computer (isn't recognized) even though it will scan from the computer.

I got it as a xmas gift from my son over 3 years ago. The ink issue has been the most prevalent . It clogs easily and does not respond well to humid conditions . Once you purge the ink holder with warm water to clear it, when it reboots it uses practically all of the ink left in the cartridge for all colors. If one doesn't print at least every other day or so it sends out blurred prints. (also true with HP's own ink ). Thanks for the feedback.

Factory \ print cartage printed about 20 pages. Goes thorough cartages like crazy. Bloat ware for software. I have had HP for 20 years and this is the last one. Printer is POS in my opinion. Twenty dollars is almost too much for this printer.

I've heard good and bad about this printer. I've had very good luck with mine. It's still going strong, even to this day.
