same here. The image is blurry, the sweet spot very small, but if I were 1 cm closer to the lenses, it would be awesome.unfortunately, this accessory doesn't improve anything since it has the same dimensions as the stock cover. Don't get fooled...

@oczhaal2 жыл бұрын
@@user-wq9mw2xz3j Yes, but even the thinner one is still not at the right distance for my eyes it seems. I 3D printed a support and glued some foam on it, which brings my face closer to the screens and it has solved this issue somewhat. But I have to fight to get on the sweet spot while playing from time to time because the HMD moves during the gaming sessions.

I put this in my reply to VR Flight Sim Guy's reply to my comment, but wanted to share a possible side benefit with everyone - with this new cover, I am actually able to wear my glasses with the Reverb G2. I have rectangular lenses (and a rather large head). This cover actually accommodates that width, and it is comfortable to wear. The stock cover was too narrow to fit over my glasses. I just put in over forty minutes of flying in the new Spitfire IXc, and had a hard time putting the Reverb down so I could get to some work that needs doing around the house. The scenery, and especially gauges, are now crystal clear and sharp. I am one happy Reverb G2 and VR Cover owner today.

Interesting how you and MRTV came to somewhat different conclusions. on the VR Cover FAQ they did mention face shape does play a roll if the FOV is increased or not. I purchased this VR cover interface set this morning along with the 3DWard Printing FOV gasket/interface to try out both. the 3DWard appears to be very similar to the jewcookie "frankenfov deluxe" that MRTV reviewed and does come with nose flaps to help seal off light leakage.

I don't have an HP REVERB G2 yet because I'm afraid I might be disappointed by this famous sweet spot, and I was wondering if bringing the eyes closer to the lenses, improved, or made the sweet spot worse.
@Deankenny213 жыл бұрын
@@pauldupond5653 Paul, I can confirm it does not improve the sweet spot, I have to use my Q2 over my G2 simply because of the tiny sharp area in the G2 vs the Q2 albeit slight less clarity but complete uniform clarity throughout, for example on a track at Brands Hatch stopping at the same place in both headsets, in the Q2 I can look left with just my eyes and read the brake marker pretty clearly with little to no difference in clarity to the centre, in the G2 however this same brake marker is just one big blob of blur, it's incredibly unreadable and only way to read it is to move my whole head over, which as you know in sim racing going 150mph up to a corner is something you don't really have time to do, so my Q2 stays as my sim headset for now. Don't get me started in MSFS like the G1000 panels, what I said about the brake marker is just 1000x increased due to all the dials.

@@Deankenny21 Hi, And thank you for your feedback. I received the G2 and I see the same thing, for the braking points. In MSFS unlike a lot of people, I don't mind the sweet spot. Moreover, following the remark of a person, I have the impression that with the updates, that it improved.

The sides on original are too narrow for my face and they are pushing the front away. So I thought a few mm wider gasket combined with thinner pad - this is what I was waiting for and I ordered it with expedited shipping. Then I watched MRTV's review and he says there is no difference in size and curvature of the gasket. I thought about canceling the order but I decided not to. I want to give it a try. Hi Steve, listening to you talking about field of view, I have to ask you the following question. I returned my Reverb G2 to HP because the picture quality was only good at the very center. Everything outside of the center was so blurry that it was making me feel sick. I therefore had to move my head constantly instead of moving my eyes. I can't even imagine how much blurrier a wider FOV would have been. How is it with your Reverb G2? Is your picture sharp all around or are you also experiencing blurry image outside of the center? Cheers
@VRFlightSimGuy3 жыл бұрын
Did you make sure you were displaying the native resolution in Steam VR or open XR? It's beautifully sharp. Of course, the image quality deteriorates as you move away from the centre, this will be more noticeable due to that sharpness in the centre. For me, the sweet spot is great. Make sure your IPD and fitment is correct.

Thanks for your answer. I made sure in openXR that it xas displaying native resolution and tried to adjust the headset position but didn't get anything good. Reading the menus in MSFS was also a challenge as i had to move my head in the direction of each word to be able to read it properly. I even had other people to try as i thought maybe it was a problem with my eyes (as I'm getting older). I also couldn't get any sound out of the Reverb speakers. So after a few days, I returned it to HP. Too bad, the immersion feeling was amazing.

@@VRFlightSimGuy Maybe. But I've now read or heard reviews from several people complaining about the sharpness issue. I'll give VR another try in... 10 years maybe. In the meantime, I'll experience it through your vids ;-)

Did not increase the FOV for me. I guess it depends on your face shape. Also the original cover is more comfortable.

I have my pad stuck directly to the G2. Now have full FOV
@tombulva3 жыл бұрын
I am afraid that this solution is not suitable (unfortunately) for people who wear glasses. Unless to use optical correction overlays for the G2.
@VRFlightSimGuy3 жыл бұрын
Probably not as it puts your eyes much closer to the lens. Ican't say for certain though

Cool now I can have a even bigger blurry fov in mfs2020🙄😳😉👍
@VRFlightSimGuy3 жыл бұрын
???? The Reverb G2 is not blurry. Maybe check your IPD or Open XR settings

Personally, I hated these covers. It is uncomfortable to wear, you get a lot of light bleed around the nose.
@GokuPlaysUK3 жыл бұрын
there is no difference what so ever regarding fov from the original its the exact same gasket with a different padding
@davido34033 жыл бұрын
Only difference is foam pad. It is way softer and smooshes down more bringing you closer to lens. I suppose you could replace just the padding and do the same.

Boooohh, no shipping to switzerland - it's the one thing I go back to my old headset, bigger fov...

The release for Europe will be in the next 1 - 2 weeks.

@@VRFlightSimGuy that was a quick response! looking forward to try it, looks a gamechanger - used the g2 without faceinlet, only thick older VR-covers from the vive - not comfy, but much better fov, with the inlet, should be very good

How do you install this bad boy? And I've gotta stop watching your channel, at this rate you're gonna bankrupt me!! ;)

Haha send my apologies to your wallet 😁 It's very easy to install

@@VRFlightSimGuy OK, very easy is good, but I was sorta looking for a few more specifics. Like, am I off buying velcro or magnets at other places, or is it a turn key all in the box solution, just stick the included velcro where it tells you to, or whatever the case may be... Thanks in advance for your help. Oh, and you'll probably have to apologize to my wife for the wallet stuff. But watch out, she's Puerto Rican, has chunklets, and knows how to use them! (Chunklets is slang spanglish for flip flops that PR women have been known to throw at people who anger them... and it's all in good fun!)

@@kevykevTPA lol that made me chuckle. It's literally as easy as pull of your old facial interface and stick the new one on. I'm pretty sure I show this in the video?

@@VRFlightSimGuy OK, I ordered it, almost completely because of your recommendation. If it sucks, you're buying me the Just Flight Arrow with your money! But I won't tell your wife...
